@plainoldme,
In light of the fact that:
Quote:
Thomas Sowell (born June 30, 1930), is an American economist, social critic, political commentator and author. He often writes as an advocate of laissez-faire economics. He is currently a senior fellow of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. In 1990, he won the Francis Boyer Award, presented by the American Enterprise Institute. In 2002 he was awarded the National Humanities Medal for prolific scholarship melding history, economics, and political science. In 2003, he was awarded the Bradley Prize for intellectual achievement.
Thomas Sowell's book is in fact a basic text, and your post to the contrary, plainoldme, is another OD fairy tale.

By the way, Thomas Sowell has black skin. I guess your post also marks you a racist!

It's always nice to see such bang bang logical thinking. How could anyone reach any other conclusion?

I'm going to send this to a whole host of dictionaries. I truly hope that they will include it in their entries for logical deduction.

@JTT,
Very Funny, JTT.

You, of course realize that I was merely satirizing OD fairy tale, racist logic.

Aw, aw! Maybe you don't realize it!?

Probably any person that does not spout liberal, anti capitalist, anti-free market economics propaganda is a "right wing screed," according to the radical leftist pom. Joseph Stalin probably would not have liked Sowell's book either, and might have also labeled it as a "right wing screed."

Yes, if you disagree with anyone with black skin, that makes you a racist. We learned that, didn't we ican, during the last election. Democrats love to play the race card, so why can't we?

you have to have a sense of humor to satirize.

@plainoldme,
No, every bit of humor has to have a grain of truth to succeed, and that is why ican is successful, and why most liberals are never funny whey they try to be.

@snood,
That's good, Snood.

But, of course you know that all the southern racists, the ones against integration, the ones who committed these heinous acts, were Democrats, right?

One of your few correct posts, JTT, congratulations!!!
I wonder if Snood remembers this, the Republican, Dwight D. Eisenhower, standing up to the racist Democrats of the South:?

Hey Okie, Hawkeye, since I'm on a roll, how about this one?

Bring your friends along, there's lots of seats available in the grandstand, hell, I'll even hold a couple of seats for you at the round table of panelists so you can comment.

I would guess that objective (unlike you) internet services chose not to mention his race. My argument is that his book can not be objective or a basic economic primer as his professional life indicates this is a man with a mission.

@JTT,
And, if you knew anything about history, you would understand that the Democrats were the conservatives during the 19th C and the new Republican Party was the party to which the Abolitionists and the Suffragettes, the progressives (left-leaning people) of that era flocked. The positions of the two parties began to change not long after the war.

And, yes, early in the 20th C, when the two major parties had liberal and conservative wings, the conservative wings of both parties were opposed to integration, as were most whites because the Abolitionist movement did not extend beyond the Civil War.

@okie,
Eisenhower acted to improve the opinion of European nations. He was aware that other countries disapproved of AMerican racism. In other words, he did the right thing for a less than right reason.

@ican711nm,
Sorry, but the right is less able to be objective than the left.

BTW, has anyone noticed that you can always tell who is right of center in any work environment because they are always shooting off their mouths? Leftists are more cautious and respectful in presenting their opinions.

OD? My father, a tool and die grinder, spoke of OD all the time. What do "outside diameters" have to do with this discussion?

Yes, they were. And when the rest of the national party decided they'd had enough of that bullshit, these Conservatives quit the Dem party and joined the Republican one.

Things do change, over time...
