@MontereyJack,
Surely you don't expect Democrats who have been bribed to vote against the Health Care Bill, do you?

why would they need to be bribed? We are expanding the health care segment of the economy significantly, as we are going to give full care to 20 million plus who right now only have emergency and charity care, while doing nothing to control the out of control costs and wasteful practices. This is a huge win for all health care workers, and more importantly the corporations who employ them. We as a nation cant afford this entitlement, but this is America, the winners of this fight don't give a **** about that.

@MontereyJack,
Exactly--and most Doctors do not belong to the AMA.

WASHINGTON " Barack Obama isn't used to hearing boos.

For all the young president's popularity, the response he got Monday from doctors at an American Medical Association meeting was a sign his road is only going to get rockier as he tries to sell his plan to overhaul the nation's health care system.

The boos erupted when Obama told the doctors in Chicago he wouldn't try to help them win their top legislative priority _ limits on jury damages in medical malpractice cases.

But what could they expect? If Obama announced support for malpractice limits, that would set trial lawyers and unions _ major supporters of Democratic candidates _ on the attack. Not to mention consumer groups.

@MontereyJack,
The Mass. Medical Society bribed? No-no need to bribe a Society of Doctors in Massachusetts. Some of them worked to remove the tumor from Kennedy's brain; Others to revive Mary Jo Kopechnie; Some others to treat Ted Kennedy's debilitating alcholoism. Besides, I wouldn't be surprised at anything that came out of a state like Massachusetts. They are saddled with the worst governor in the United States- Deval Patrick. He is almost as addled as the last Mayor of Detriot

There may be some good reason for the Republican lawsuits against HC reform. The reason may be the activist Roberts' majority on the supreme court. No one can predict what that majority may decide. Thus, I am sure that the plaintiffs have this in mind. Hopefully, the court will be reconfigured before a case gets that far.

When you've got Bobby Jindal and Rick Perry in the running for worst governor, Deval Patrick is way, way back in the pack.

Good luck in November, GOPers, looks like even luck's not going to work for you though. 49% think the health care bill is a good thing, versus 40% who don't, and we're just getting started. Looks like that's not gonna be a signature issue that works for you either.

Albemarle County (VA) police and the FBI are investigating a "potentially suspicious" cutting of a gas line at the home of Congressman Tom Perriello's brother. Perriello (D-VA) voted in favor of the health care bill.
A self described Tea Party activist posted the brother's address and urged people to "drop by" and "express their thanks" to the Congressman for his vote.
The activist, when it turned out he had posted the wrong address, called it "collateral damage."
I live in Albemarle. Stay tuned to see how this turns out.

Senate Democrats Set To Vote Down A Ban On Government Funding For Viagra For Convicted Sex Offenders.
____________________________________________________________________________
That will be the headline for folks like Rush Limbaugh (no stranger to Viagra) as the Dems work to defeat the myriad of amendments proposed by Republicans to the "fix it" health care bill in the Senate. The bill must be approved by the Senate without any amendment to avoid it having to go back for the House.
This one was introduced by Tom Coburn (R-OK).

@maporsche,
I think the one that will get the most attention is the amendment that would require members of Congress, political appointees and congressional staff to get their federal health benefits through the soon-to-be-created health insurance exchanges (Obamacare). It will practically write its own GOP ad LOL.

Right now they're exempt.

@Eorl,
Doing nothing to reverse a government's legislative trend guarantees the trend will continue. The speed of the trend toward collapse of America's Constitutional Government can at least be reduced by replacing the current federal income tax system with a flat tax on gross income with no exceptions.

@realjohnboy,
I think the Limbaugh headline would probably be something like.

"Democrats want to give Viagra to rapists and child molesters."

Yours is a little too balanced for RL.

I don't think Rush is a convicted sex offender so it wouldn't apply to him.

Are you for giving Viagra to convicted sex offenders?

@McGentrix,
No one is, McGentrix. But these amendments (like the one currently being voted on live on tv- are you watching?) are designed for no other purpose than to derail the bill and score points in the November election. I suspect the Dems have at some point pulled the same stunt.
Laws being passed, like seeing being sausage made, is not pretty to watch. Would you agree?

@McGentrix,
What's happening is that Republicans are putting amendments up for a vote like the following.

1) [Republicans] propose outlawing Viagra coverage for convicted sex offenders. Let's have a vote on this amendment.

2) The Democrats have decided that they cannot approve ANY amendments otherwise the house may not pass it. [any modifications or amendments to the bill passed by the house, will need to be revoted on in the house, so they don't want ANY amendments to pass]

3) Therefore the Democrats have to vote to ALLOW funding of Viagra coverage for convicted sex offenders.

4) Now in November, Republicans can honestly say, that [insert democrat senator here] voted to allow sex offenders to receive healthcare coverage for Viagra.

It's pretty clever. Also pretty petty. We'll see if it's effective.
