@ican711nm,

Very funny!

You have a very humorous way of redefining terms to suit your arguments.

How Ironic, considering the great lengths you have gone to in order to do exactly that in your last several posts.

Quote:
I rather the wealthy spend and/or invest their money to maximize their income.

The eventual result of this is indistinguishable from feudalism: a huge number of poor and middle class people working to support a tiny percentage who run the place through their economic power.

Quote:
The more they spend, the more income will be obtained by those who supply the wealthier with whatever they want to buy and/or the benefits of whatever they want to invest in.

Perhaps you are happy being a serf, but I am not and neither are most Americans. Also, unlike you, I do not buy into the idea of becoming wealthy myself, so that other serfs can live off of my spending decisions.

What's your excuse, Mr. Potter? Why not turn that psychoanalytic raygun on yourself? Obama at least became President; all you do is bitch on the internet.

Freud is boring, by the way.

Actually, I confess to wasting way too much time on this forum. But when I walk away from it, I have alot more to life, I have no desire to lord it over the masses, I would rather mind my own business and let others mind theres. But I resent the government trying to take our freedom and liberty away, so I see this forum as one avenue of letting off steam and expressing my opinion. And if it might help convince just one other person of voting correctly the next election, it would also provide additional reason for doing it..

okie, What freedoms and liberties have our government taken away since Jan 20, 2009? Please make a list for us, because I seem to be missing mine.

@cicerone imposter,
Despite some attempts, the Obama Administration has taken none of our essential liberties away. The Obama Administration is so inept that it will make Jimmy Carter's group look like Solons. The President's Job Approval Ratings are dropping like a rock(see the latest Gallup Poll) and his failures will be clearly reflected in the November mid-term elections. The New Jersey and Virginia governor losses by the Democrats are but a presage of a dismal future for them.

Thats twice you have made a claim about me with nothing to back it up.
And I am calling you on it again.

Since you claim that I have made statements to that effect, please be good enough to post them, or retract your statement.

And you (and others) claim the Bush admin took away some of our freedoms and rights also, yet you never provided a list of them.

Fear not, there is light at the end of this bark tunnel.
PrezBO is a one term empty suit - do what you must to survive his brain dead actions over the next 3 years.
Change for the better is on the way.

Questions:

Has PrezBO done anything to protect the liberties and freedoms of the individual?

Has PrezBO done anything to increase the liberties and freedoms of the individual?

ok, seriously kid - do you have 2/3rd's of the board on ignore? I don't follow the U.S. politics threads with any kind of devotion and even I've seen those lists posted - several times - over the past 4 - 5 years

i'll go one better than that, i challenge all voters to stay away from the polls, not one single vote cast i think that would send a stronger message of disapproval than changing governments every 4 years, which i think might be the situation for the next few years

I am very familiar with Illinois--President Obama's duties as a Community Organizer were limited to jawboning. His tenure as Senator produced little except jawboning. His current position has shown nothing but jawboning. His job approval rating is now below 50%. When he was a Senator I read both of his autobiographies. They were well written. I could not imagine what would have lead a scholar from Columbia Undergraduate and Harvard Law to give us so little about his classes, professors, grades, etc. I was stunned that he barely covered the topic of his accession to the most prestigious post at Harvard Law School--The Presidency of the Harvard Law Review.

Why did he write so little about his academic record?

I have my suspicions!!!

Here's why: with Bush, who spent his tenure at Yale snorting coke off of strippers' tits, we knew we had a C- President. And thus we expected little of him. Really the most we hoped for was that he wouldn't start WWW III, and we were ready to give him extra points for not vomiting in the lap of some foregin dignititary.

Obama knew the stakes would be high for the next president. Look how much we expect from him. Too much? Like saving the world in a year? Is that a lot? Hence the approval ratings, as you put it, sinking "like a rock" (excellent simile!)? And so it behooved him not to elaborate too much on his academic success, as even more might be expected from him.

@MASSAGAT,
Obama didn't need to brag about his scholastic record, because it's common knowledge that he was president of Harvard's Law Review. No dummy there!

Back to Obama's decision to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan, and why it was the wrong decision.

Quote:
Petraeus warns new surge progress will be slow (AP)

U.S. Central Command commanding Gen. David Petraeus testifies on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Afghanistan. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais)AP - Progress against the insurgency in Afghanistan probably will be slower than during the buildup of U.S. forces in Iraq two years ago, and the war will be "harder before it gets easier," a top U.S. general said Wednesday.

@cicerone imposter,
Oh, please, Cicerone Imposter. I am quite sure you have read autobiographies of famous people. Some of them went to Harvard, Yale, etc. Most of them( shall I give you some examples?) wrote about their experiences at Harvard, Yale, MIT. etc. Many of them wrote about their instructors, their classes, the curriculum.

Obama?
A blank slate.

Why?

Note the following from a book written long before Obama became a Senator.

Source--Poisoned Ivy--Eleanor Kerlow-St. Martin's Press- New York--Published November 1994

Quote from P. 11

"His predecessor, Baruch Obama, had been the first African-American to serve as the Review's Presidentin 103 years. Obama was friendly and outgoing but the class succeeding him wanted a TOUGHER EDITOR TO LEAD THEM."

Do you know anything about what it takes to get into Harvard Law School, Cicerone Imposter?

If you did, you would know that not only does one need a very high LSAT score-VERY HIGH, but one also NEEDS an almost straight A record from the Undergraduate School.

Do you have any information on this with regards to our President? I got nothing from reading his autobiographies.

I'm almost positive Obama got into Harvard Law School because they came up one short on their token list and he happened to be next in line.

Do you have any evidence of that, Dyslexia? I can find none. The only evidence that I have that is suggestive is that.despite the fact that Columbia University will not release President Obama's grades, they have noted that he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

There are some who say that a Magna Cum Laude is not enough to gain acceptance to Harvard Law School even with very high LSAT's.

I really don't know. I merely commented that it was very strange that President Obama wrote his autobiography and did not speak to his class honors or his election to the Presidency of Harvard Law Review in depth.

@MASSAGAT,
perhaps that wasn't what he wanted to focus on

what if anything he accomplished would be more important to the people he was helping, or to those he was explaining that help to than if he got an A+ in algebra
