@farmerman,
Foxie is good at contradicting her own statements; she just doesn't seem to realize it, but most of us who's challenged her know better. Too bad there's no way to keep track of all the contradictory statements she's made on a2k. LOL

Yes, I hope people catch on in time to see that Obama fails in any big government initiatives that will make things much worse, not better. I would hope you would want him to fail in initiatives that will make things worse too. Do you want him to succeed in making things worse? Have you drunk the kool-ade that makes you blind to such a possibility? Are you the least bit partisan?

I have never claimed that I was not partisan. I am very partisan in supporting those who promote small, efficient, effective federal government, respecting and enforcing the U.S. Constitution, and putting the faith in the people to get it done. I do not trust big government that is mostly focused on keeping itself in power and prospering itself. Anybody who most closely shares my views about that has my vote. Unfortunately the GOP sure hasn't shared my views much lately, and the Democrats have been far worse. Sometimes we're stuck with the lesser of two incompetencies, and that's a sad state of affairs indeed.

@Foxfyre,
Since Foxie is an expert in economics, she has determined that the Obama team actions are already failures.

This is the very first time in modern history we have run up against this kind of world financial crisis, but Foxie knows already that Obama has failed to take the right steps.

Foxie, In addition to your god, Sowell, who's your advisers? LOL

@cicerone imposter,
Please post my remarks that even suggest that I have said:
1) I am an expert in economics
2) I have determined that Obama team actions are already failures
3) I know that Obama has failed to take the right steps

In addition to Sowell I look to the classical economists (John Locke, Adam Smith, David Hume, David Ricardo, Voltaire, Montesquieu) and the more modern Walter Williams, the late Milton Friedman, several publications that I read regularly including the Wall Street Journal, and lately have been reading Robert P. Murphy.

You however are on record as saying you think the big spending initiatives are the wrong way to go. Obama supports them. Do you hope he fails in that?

You have already determined that his "big government initiatives that will make things much worse"...implies all three.

@cicerone imposter,
That isn't what I said CI. Now slow down and read very carefully what I said. Maybe if I put it in bigger type and typed more slowly it would be easier for you.

Again, did you or did you not say that you did not think spending hundreds of billions of dollars was the way out of the financial crisis? Is that not a way of saying that you hope Obama's game plan fails regarding that?

Strange comments from one who spends so much time on these threads discussing these and other issues.

I think that the name-calling is very rude - and it makes you look like the very things which you, unjustly, call others.

Why coddle someone who frequently and admittedly posts drunk?

@Cycloptichorn,
I am never drunk Cyclo. I don't like hangovers. Two and a half pints merry is my limit and I only post in that state in the last hour of the day and then mainly on Trivia. It is part of my diet and it keeps my bowels in good order which is not an unimportant consideration. The tax on it makes a significant contribution to welfare and other services which I suppose you are managing to avoid.

At this moment I am as sober as sober gets and have been since I woke up 10 hours ago. Why don't you take your puritannical, Pythagorean prohibitionism and shove it up your sphincter.

I've been coddled a lot more than George can manage too.

I never said such a thing; you are the one incapable of understanding simple English. Since you are the one making the claim, show me where I said such a thing.

BTW, I don't need your condescending bull ****.

Frankly, Drunkenness is a charitable way of explaining your ill-conceived and inexplicable posts, Spendi. My alternative is to point out that you seem hard-pressed to put two logical thoughts together with any frequency, use words to mean whatever you seem to want them to, and mostly come to A2K to act the Troll towards those who take the time to present logical arguments with supporting evidence.

Your posting in any thread having to do with the topic of evolution is evidence of one who cares little for fact or logic. It is extremely difficult for me to believe that you aren't just having a piss when you discuss stuff here. If not, then I truly feel sorry for you, sir.

Spendy, as an analyst you couldn't find your own arse with both hands.
You completely misunderstood that, not for the first time. Or maybe you just wanted to be objectionable.

btw Pres Obama's plane got here at 19.51 which was 2 hours and 40 minutes ago. The occasion was important enough to be carried live on two TV channels here.
