You frauds on the left were bragging about polls when your guy was ahead. Now you do not like polls?

When in the world of A2k have I said I didn't like polls; much less anywhere in this quote?

We leftwingers dont like polls? We've been pasting them all over.

And why not: the pollster.com trendline for all current national polls has Obama in the lead by 5%; the running average of current national polling on RealClearPolitics has Obama in the lead by 3%; the Gallup daily tracking poll has Obama in the lead by 1%; the Rasmussen daily tracking poll has Obama in the lead by 2%; and the database of all current national polls on Fivethirtyeight.com is estimating Obama to be ahead by 3%.

It's your guy Ticomaya who brushes off all these polls are meaningless.

They ARE meaningless and I am glad you spend all your time hazing the Net to find one you like. The only "poll" that counts comes on 11-4. Laughing Laughing Laughing

"Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Friday announced an "Emergency Economic Plan" that would give families a stimulus check of $1,000 each, funded in part by what his presidential campaign calls "windfall profits from Big Oil."

Details are in this six-page policy paper.

The first part of Obama's plan is an emergency energy rebate ($500 to individual workers, $1,000 to families) as soon as this fall.

"This rebate will be enough to offset the increased cost of gas for a working family over the next four months," Obama said. "Or, if you live in a state where it gets very cold in the winter, it will be enough to cover the entire increase in your heating bills. Or you could use the rebate for any of your other bills or even to pay down debt"

So let's tax companies who make an 8% return based upon revenues and that is his energy plan?

This man has no clue and this is a very dangerous statement.

Rolling Eyes What Nimh only too patiently explained to you, is that Obama leads EVERY poll... and he was kind enough to not mention that Obama dominates when the polling is applied to the electoral map.

That being said: Stimulous packages ARE idiotic... and a little scary.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses

The big question is, why are "we" there?

Because the people we elected to run the country, after carefully considering all the circumstances, and not just some of them, decided, with all the mechanisms at their disposal, that we were going.

How you go is then down to the military. They go when told to go minding their heads as best they can. They don't bleat like a little lamb that has lost its way.

That's why "we" are there.

If you have any better ideas write to the descendents of Louis the XV!

Do you tell the captains of the aircraft you fly hither and thither in how to fly the plane.

And I know what Mr Bush would say about how easy flying a plane is compared to flying the good ol' U S A.

joe, Try not to educate Tico the difference between polls and diagrams. It won't help any, and just a waste of your time; he'll continue to post those meaningless posts that we can scroll through.

But how do you think they got the data for the diagram, Joe?

They polled the Sportos, Motorheads, Geeks, Sluts, Bloods, Wasteoids, Dickheads, and Dweebies.

Do try to keep up.

I have no idea. A Venn diagram wouldn't include that kind of information.

Then why put the results in a Venn diagram?

Because he picked up the cute graphic off of some lame website, and it's easier to post jokes then it is to post poll after poll showing his candidate losing.

Well it is a Venn diagram or isn't it? You seem to have some damn rigid rules for Venn diagrams. What are you, the Venn diagram police?

What ... you would prefer a list? Boring.

In any case, where would Jeannie fall in that list? It seems she is divided.

Now for a more meaningful graphic.

How is Obama doing, relative to how Kerry did?

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3166/2722150324_cac6b82105_o.png

As you can see, the ONE group he is behind on is 'Democrats.' This is a hold-over effect from Clinton's attempt at the nomination. I fully expect that number to turn around after the convention and as we get closer to election day.

As it is, it shows why McCain is losing; Obama is FAR ahead of where Kerry was, on almost every single metric.

No, just a concerned bystander.

Actually, I'd prefer anything that gives a better visual representation of poll results than a Venn diagram, which doesn't do a very good job of that.

Ticomaya wrote:

If Jeannie had actually been polled, then a visual representation that did a better job of showing poll results (say, e.g., a bar graph) would be preferable to a Venn diagram. In any event, the "fact" that Ferris is considered a "righteous dude" by the sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, and dickheads is not, as far as I can tell, the result of a poll taken of the sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, and dickheads. It's just the opinion of Ed Rooney's secretary, Grace.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the Venn diagram. It was very clever -- which is why I'm sure you didn't do it. But I wouldn't have made the mistake of confusing a Venn diagram with a poll.
