The questions are a bit odd, but the results seem to be about right for me.

You are a

Social Liberal
(70% permissive)

and an...

Economic Liberal
(13% permissive)

You are best described as a:

Socialist

You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness.

The other test at moral politics (something like that) said I was a socialist too.

I think I found a better one at:

http://www.moral-politics.com/xpolitics.aspx?menu=Home

It said there was no US Party that matched my ideologies, and that is certainly correct. This one isn't that much better though.

Here's how I scored on this test:

Your Score

Your scored -5 on the Moral Order axis and -4 on the Moral Rules axis.

Matches

The following items best match your score:

System: Liberalism
Variation: Moral Liberalism, Extreme Liberalism
Ideologies: Capital Democratism, Progressivism
US Parties: Democratic Party, Libertarian Party
Presidents: Lyndon B. Johnson (95.06%)
2004 Election Candidates: John Kerry (87.50%), Ralph Nader (77.47%), George W. Bush (55.59%)

And I haven't a clue of what it means, lol.

I'm not an American and I ended up as a Strong Democrat, despite giving some rather conservative answers.

This test, however, is not a good test, because there is no middle option. At one point, I didn't want to say disagree or agree. I wanted to voice a neutral option, because though I wouldn't respect a war veteran more, I wouldn't respect him less.

I think "Democrat" does not refer to the US political party, but to the philosophy of democratic rule. As for not having a middle option, I doubt anyone here is really completely neutral on anything, you might just have to think about it a while and really be honest with yourself. I once read that if you couldn't decide between two options, assign one to heads and one to tails and flip a coin. Just before you reveal the answer, you will know which of hte two you want it to be. This test is asking you to decide one way or the other without the cheap out. That said, I got:

Social Liberal
(73% permissive)

Economic Conservative
(61% permissive)

You are best described as a: Libertarian

Who would have thought?

I don't like the poll. I had to disagree with some statements just because they were horribly formulated. I am certainly not a socialist as it pegged me. social liberal, yes, economic liberal - well, in a classical, not american sense.

I would imagine the universal healthcare was an indicator of a preference for socialism. A few others stuck out as Socialist.

I could tell what >most< of them would be used to indicate. Not all, though.

Yes, I hate doing that "lesser of two evils" thing.
