neither dem nor repub supposedly, and since supposedly she wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell of being elected, why is the GOP so obsessed with and scared shitless of her?

I love her, Bear.

The conservatives moaned and groaned about Bill Clinton also...

...and then chose the bozo.

Ya can't figure them. They're nuts.

Hillary is my senator and I think she has done a great job, especially in terms of education and children's causes. I hated that she voted for the war and still says it was the right decision. The reason I do not want to see her run for president is because she would only fuel the civil war that is going on in this country. We really need someone with more appeal to the moderate middle. She is viewed as an extreme liberal, although her voting record shows that is not true, but too many people hate her the way I hate Bush and the intensity of these feeling have polarized us a country.

I would like to hear more from Senator Barack Obama. I think America would vote for a black man faster than a white woman. I've heard Obama speak on NPR and was very impressed with him. He lacks long term experience, but that didn't stop people from voting for Dubya.

I hope who ever is elected can restore some of the world wide respect we have lost. I'm tired of my friends in Europe emailing me Bush/Anti-American jokes.

I think he and Hillary would make a great team.

I adore Obama. I dunno if now is the right time for him, but he's the only one who has me going "that would be SO great...!"

I s'pect at least some of this is to make people think that her nomination is inevitable. If the candidate is inelectable, wouldn't the other party do their damnedest to make sure that that person wins the primaries and gets the nomination? Keep her name out there. Keep making it look like she's being attacked (heck, attack her outright -- why not?), all the while convincing the middle of the road voters -- who are the ones who will decide not only the next election but probably the next several -- that this is damaged goods, not a good choice, etc. etc. etc. Subtle stuff and blatant stuff. Why not? If you can push another Adlai Stevenson/Walter Mondale out there, or a George McGovern, you're in fat city, even if you don't have Ike, Nixon or Reagan on your team.

Then again, I have a suspicious nature.
