Hard work is the key to success we are told.
Hard work never hurt anybody we are told.
Well, I say, if hard work always paid off, slaves would be rich.
Hard work plus opportunity is the key to success. And nobody ever said hard work always pays off - you can work really hard at a stupid idea and get nowhere.
My grandmother said, "if you want to work hard, somebody will let you."
I think I like your Grandmother.
