Did not get the long-term (classroom teacher) job I interviewed for two weeks ago. I did get a one-on-one job for the rest of the 2007-2008 school year. Maybe next school year I'll land a classroom teacher position..... At least the one I got is full-time with benefits.

I've been working in an inclusive school system where those with special needs are serviced as best as possible inside the general education classrooms. In some extreme cases, to make this work, a student needs an adult shadowing him or her throughout the day. That's what I'll do. It's mindless, repetitive, and straightforward. Also a little boring, intellectually.

I will work with his parents and the specialists (psych, behavioralist, special ed teacher, classroom teacher, speech and language teacher, etc) to get him through the day. He is on the autism spectrum.
