@Merry Andrew,
As a kid growing up in New England, I was oftentimes offered a tonic by my friend's father. I always said no, thinking he wanted to give me some medicine. It took a long time to figure out why he wanted to give me medicine and his daughter a soda.

Have a GREAT run all you runners!!!

It rained.
We ran.
We got very, very wet.

But it was fun, and afterwards we had lunch together in a little Thai restaurant
in Jes & Reege's neighborhood.

That's very, very true. This morning, only one thing in Artrisani Park stayed dry: Jespah's humor.

I used to love running in the rain, as I said elsewhere just a day or two ago. Was it windy? That's a pain.

Tell me about the Thai food... please.

it wasn't bad while we were running, but we quickly cooled down afterwards.
was nice to get into a warm house and change into dry threads...

at the thai place, i settled for shrimp fried rice because they couldn't make lobster fried rice.

the food's delicious there, AND it's walking distance.
can't beat that with a stick...

@ossobuco,
I had chicken satay as an appetizer, and yellow tofu curry as the main dish. A small faux pas occurred: When I instinctively pulled the satay plate toward me, the waitress infinitesimally raised one eyebrow and asked: "Aren't you sharing?" Before I could push the plate back, the others at the table saved my face by immediately chiming in and saying "no thanks, we're okay, never mind."

@Thomas,
Oh my, Socialist Thai Food! I had forgotten about that.

I had a wonderful but garlicky shrimp dish. Looked at my #s afterwards and realized there was a reason I was a tad hungry. Still cold, I had some leftover soup at home.

And --- they got to see a bit o' the Messy Mansion.

It's messy. There are many boxes 'n stuff.

We also read from a nonselling book my company publishes. No one can figure out why it wasn't some runaway bestseller.

I think my sneakers are still wet.

We had a blast.

I had the Chicken Pik Pow.
It was rated at 1 pepper, but was even milder than that.
Which is okay by me.
The veggies were cooked just right.

When I paddled in the Run of the Charles, our tradition post-race meal was at
Redbones, a barbeque joint in Somerville.
Thai food is a much better option. I was actually able to digest it.

@George,
There are some pics up! I found 1 of George and 1 (a crowd scene) where I can be seen. I'm in this one, left side; I've got on a gold sweatshirt and a blue Red Sox cap: (photo #30): http://www.flickr.com/photos/samaritanshope/3981116071/in/set-72157622390993699/
George is in this one: (photo called Medal Winner): http://www.flickr.com/photos/samaritanshope/3981644912/in/set-72157622515530574/ (there was another photo of George which I can't find).
