I'm wearing my chocolate colored khakis today. Think I can get a garden table at Commander's Palace?

just curious. Has that Parliament song came to anyone's mind upon hearing Nagin's statements? (see post on previous page)

I do understand where Dag is coming from. Happens to all of us. You spend a fair amount of time composing a thoughtful response to a partiular question and then the person right behind you, sometimes milleseconds behind, posts some one or two word wisecrack, and....pow!.... your response is on the previous page, destined to float unread through cyberspace unless someonce actually takes the time to read an entire thread.

dagm, i never heard of the song til now. that was a clever article you reproduced, but it assumes--maybe tongue in cheek--that you're square if you didn't know the lyrics, and that's sort of a stereotype to me, along the lines of black people all like rap music. incidentally, i do own a Funkadelic album, so maybe i'm not totally uncool. FYI gus, "Play that funky music white boy" and "shake your booty" probably don't count. on the other hand, a John Tesh CD might. i once saw a show on BET-Jazz hosted by the late Lou Rawls. John Tesh was on it, and Lou told him that his music was "so funky."

A Parliament song doesn't make Nagin OK.

What he said was psychotic, and unacceptable--like Hill's plantation comment. The difference is they aren't hounded like Lott, Bennett or anyone who dares make such a statement, while being Republican.

Amen.

Nagin has come to his senses. He says he was a bit nuts when he made the God comment.

<tapping foot, waiting for Hill apology...not holding breath...>
