Gotta see the vid for the full effect:

He starts talking of Abramoff just under the halfway point (look at the title underneath them).

DEAN: There are no Democrats who took money from Jack Abramoff, not one, not one single Democrat. Every person named in this scandal is a Republican. Every person under investigation is a Republican. Every person indicted is a Republican. This is a Republican finance scandal. There is no evidence that Jack Abramoff ever gave any Democrat any money. And we've looked through all of those FEC reports to make sure that's true.

He's lying!

As recently as Wednesday, Rangel refused to return any of the money he received from Abramoff-linked clients or firms. On Thursday, his spokesman said the congressman would give up $2,000 from a law firm where Abramoff once worked - donating it to the Boys Choir of Harlem - but would keep the rest, some $47,000.

Go through DRUDGEREPORT.COM. Somehow, it by-passes registration.

'abramoff-linked' isn't 'abramoff,' now is it?

If it was, then a whole lot more Republicans are in trouble.

"Abramoff-linked clients or firms"
This is NOT the same as taking money "quid pro quo" for favors directly from Abramoff.

Yeah, I'm sure at some point or another a few Dems will be caught up in this (and if they are involved, I certainly hope they are). But for now, Republicans better find a better argument than "We might have done some bad things, but look! Some Democrats did it too!"

As much as most Republicans would like to believe, this is really not a bipartisan scandal. This is a major problem for the party.

BTW, here is a direct link to the quicktime video if anyone has trouble with the above link or the one wyio mentioned:

I agree with JustanObserver re: Republicans having to come up with better argument. This is not something that's going to go away in a week and forgotten about. Who knows how far it will go once Abramoff starts naming names...

P.S. JustanObserver - cool avatar!
