What's to know? I've yet to see you formulate an opinion about anything on your own. I know vanilla christianity, I know you.

Oh really? How's this for an opinion all my own? When you first started posting on A2K you were very respectful. Since then IMO you have just jumped on the bandwagon and started throwing about names, labels, and accusations. IMO you are a person to be pitied.

I guess our respect may have gotten blown aside, a bit, by the blustering holy wind howling through the halls of a2k of late.

It was early last December
As near as I remember
Oh I staggered down the street
In tipsy pride
Soon I lay down in the gutter
Thinking thoughts I cannot utter
When a pig came up
And lay down by my side

Two old ladies passing by
Oh gave me the jaundiced eye
And laying there I over heard one say
Tststst, uh,uh,uh,uh You can tell a man who boozes
By the company he chooses
ThenÂ…..the pig got up and slowly walked away

My point exactly, littlek. Because of how you and others may feel about the Christians posting, that became more important than the troops.

Yet, we you would call holy MUST, of course, accept the response we get because.......?

None of us has been swayed from how we feel about the troops, religious threads and all. Likewise, I hope you haven't been swayed by our irreverance.

Not swayed from the troops. From some on this forum, yes.

Because it's a public forum.

That's always a good excuse I guess.

Dunno why I bother, but oh well ... Momma A, it ain't you or what you stand for or believe in that's catching flack, its how you go about expressing it. I don't suppose saying it again will have any more effect than the first or subsequent times it was said, but its been said again.

Anon,

Glad you're here. Can you tell me why you haven't posted in the Iraqi thread for prayers for them? Weren't you one of the ones complaining about us only praying for the troops?

Matter of fact ... NOT! I think praying is somewhat ... Umnn, not gonna say it!

It would take a lot more than the irreverence displayed here to sway most, if any.

I treated you with courtesy, not respect. That is the default way I treat people until they teach me otherwise.
Respect is earned, as is disdain.

Timber,

I am sorry if I don't know the big words you do. I am sorry if I can't logically debate the way you and others can. I am sorry that all I have is my experience and limited knowledge to express what I think, feel, and believe.

I don't understand why some just can't see how their behavior can hurt other people's feelings. But, I guess that if my feelings are hurt that's my problem because they are my feelings, right?

Anon,

If you weren't one of the ones complaining, then I apologize. That's why I asked if you were or not.

Doktor S,

You, however, are not one that ever could hurt my feelings.

I've been thinking a mite on this thing.

I have enjoyed hoots with Momma et al, and this doesn't signal any departure from that good vibe on my part, but *I have a big problem with the "praying on a thread" thing. Just probably my personal impression from childhood---reading the Bible--that we shouldn't **"pray to be seen praying", but in our "quiet prayer closet."

Who was it that was disgusted by the Gentiles who prayed loudly in the street? Was it Jesus? I've forgotten.

Of course, there is a school of people who feel it is their responsibility to advertise Jesus' story, and I know many of them do so because they love people--but, I'm pretty sure there are infinitely better ways to advertise Christ.

My interpretation of "public prayer" isn't legal and binding or anything, but I did want to share it. I know a lot of people who would say I was wrong---and they would say it in terms that would illustrate me roasting on a spit in hell, but, hey, it's just an opinion.

On the flip side, I have been a distinct minority here for most of my tenure, and this little demographic shift has tickled me more than you will know. I am interested to know where the new Christians came from. Did you google or did a friend invite you? Curious.

*I'm not suggesting anyone pay one bit of attention to my "big problem". I did want to add in my bit.

**Just using what I remember of the scripture, not making a statement about our posters.

MoAn,
A word to the wise... Never turn your back on a satanist.
