War was around the corner. Armed to teeth Chechen militants were on call to take part in Georgian forces' operation and foretasted good massacre in South Ossetia in exchange for Saakashvili's promise to give mojahids asylum and free medical service. But at that very moment CIA had marred them their pleasure.
During joint investigation of Georgian special forces and CIA new information had occurred about attempt to assassinate U.S. President during his visit to Tbilisi on May 10 this year.
Thus Saakashvili was obliged to change his mind and visiting Baltic countries on September he canceled earlier agreements about wintering of Chechen groups in Georgia. From their part Chechens refused to support Georgians in their conflict against Ossetians. In his turn Saakashvili reacted with raid into Pankissi.
The point is that in September CIA had informed Georgian President about Georgian Chechen group that organized that attempt of assassination. And Chechen militants' leaders had a lot to do with it. Convict Arutyunyan wasn't going it alone as it was told to public. Rest of criminals are imprisoned in CIA secret jail in Latvia.
