Special Thanks to Ehbeth and Osso, my son and his wife have been thru hell and back, it has been a gut wrenching business for then that I haven't shared on any forum, it's different when it's your kids, I'd walk thru hell, barefoot on broken glass to make sure they were happy. Alas, so many things are out of my grasp..(parents know what I'm talking about)....but my daughter-in-law is expecting a baby girl approx. April 20th, and we are all grateful, but nervous and hoping for a good outcome. I know that sounds a tad detached, but all I can do is wait and I refuse to think of disappointment, I really think this is their time. Sonograms and OB have been happy things. Again, thank you Osso and Ehbeth for the positive reinforcement. Bless you both.

@glitterbag,
Best wishes to your son and his wife. As Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part.

@ehBeth,
wearing: brown sweat pants, maroon colored long sleeve t-shirt, and white bathrobe (I really started my morning late today).
hearing: WQXR's exclusive online station Q2: Refractions James Tocco, piano (never heard of it but it sounds like it could be in a modern take on Rosemary's Baby score.
eating : Nothing yet.
drinking: Water.

fearing: For ehBeth's life because of the following!
Quote:
feeling: a dog's eyes staring at the back of my head
Smelling: dog broth heating up

Get out of the HOUSE ehBETH! It sounds like it's coming to get you!!

wanting: it all (or at least just financial security) as well (including safe passage for ehBeth fro m all the monstrously hungry dogs out there!)
weary and confused about: By my company's further alleged generosity of giving a lot of us employees a lot of paid days off while they wait for permission to move the scanning project from W17th St. to Broadway by Astor Place. So far the moving delays make me a tad skittish about the whole affair.
looking forward to: Going to the Haunted House, Nightmares: Superstition this Sunday evening.

@tsarstepan,
hehehe

the little old dogs just had a very nice luncheon and Set has taken them for a sashay (we can't say the w . a . l . k word here)

the dogs were verra excited when the chicken broth with carrots hit the minced Smithfield bacon (which was hiding their medicine). It did smell quite wonderful. therefore ''the stare"

@sozobe,
They've been to Mayo for an ultra ultrasound. Placenta is calcifying. They will watch closely. May have to induce. This kid may come by the stubbornness honestly Confused

@Swimpy,
Ooh induction + home birth = eek. Is she rethinking the home birth if they induce?

In my sample of one, there is definitely a very high correlation between being born past one's due date and stubbornness. Smile

@Lash,
Off topic: The concept of boring mystifies me. I can never remember being bored. There is just so much to do at any time.

Just never understood it.

@sozobe,
Home birth is out. My son, the dad-to-be was also late, so we have a sample of two. The correlation is high indeed.

@NoOne phil,
Phil, you are obviously a sterling individual who could teach us all something about how to live life. Don't try to teach me though. You'd become far too frustrated and spontaneously combust. It's happened a few times.

@Lash,
I was working up a slow reply, Lash. But, Phil, we're glad to have you here in our conceptual tragic boredom. Me, I'm never bored either, but I approach it from time to time with tenterhooks and little fingers.

@Lash,
I would never claim to be a teacher, something Socrates or Plato understood. Perception determines conception, conception determines will.
All I can do is use my foot, if you know what I mean.

A little boredom now and then is good. It makes you really appreciate the exciting things- plus it guarantees I will never have any stale cookies lying about.

@ossobuco,
wearing: Black jeans and a dark blue Placebo concert t-shirt;
hearing: Just the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee in my left ear and some random street noises outside my window;
eating: Nothing now but I do regret getting that bland egg salad sandwich (see below for reason);
drinking: Water;
feeling: Kind of tired and wished I wasn't such a loser, (pun intended... see below);
wanting: To deal with actual honest people, it may not be the case but I believe I accidentally dropped my MP3 player after I was leaving the movie theater tonight or perhaps when I went into Duane Reade for a sandwich. Called both locations and neither set of employees were particularly helpful;
looking forward to: Going to Washington DC (but not looking forward to the actual bus trip).
