Over the next two-and-a-half days I'll be making lemon bars, pecan tassies, powdered sugar meltaways, chocolate cherry chews, peanut butter m&m cookies, and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. I've given up on sugar cookies because they never come out right.
On Saturday we'll drive around to friends and neighbors to give most of them away.
This is the only baking I do all year, and it's a good thing 'cuz I'd just eat them otherwise.
What special holiday treats do you make?
Spent the whole day yesterday making fudge. Usually use the Semi-sweet morsels, but this year did one regular and then got "creative" and threw in a handful of white chocolate morsels.
OMG! To die! Yep, glad most of it's going out as gifts.
6 Minute Fudge
1 6oz pkg Nestles Semi-Sweet Morsels
1 Stick Butter
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
6 1/2 Oz. Pet Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup nuts - optional
Melt butter. Add condensed milk, and sugar. Bring to rapid boil and boil for 6 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla, morsels and nuts if desired. Stir and pour into buttered *' square dish. Let coo. Cut into squares and enjoy.
Made 5 dozen choc chip cookies today! Sozlet helped, did pretty well. Cracked eggs without getting shells in the bowl and everything.
They're pretty yummy! Of course she wants to keep ALL of them... (3 dozen are going out as gifts, with home-made ornaments.)
(PET MILK?? I'm getting an image of you milking Gracie again...
)
Squinney, Mr B calls that recipe ''Grandma's Christmas fudge" because she makes it every year. It's a winner!
Yeah to Sozlet on her successful egg cracking.
ROFLMAO!!! (And I never type that, btw!)
Sozobe, You are too funny!
(wipes eyes)
OMG. I'd forgotten all about that!! hahaha.
Good catch.
Steamed chocolate pudding with whipped cream.
(I know, I almost never use the lol emoticon but I was!)
The fudge sounds yummy... if I can get over the dog-milk gag reflex...
