Hi Grace and welcome.

Dark Side of the Moon is without question one of the greatest rock albums every produced. They just remastered it onto 6.1 channel SACD.

HI all its nice to be here, you all seem a friendly bunch Very Happy

Dark Side of the Moon was a fantastic album, i think it was originally released in the early 70s, a bit before my time, but find it still has a great impact on a few the the younger generation of today.
My favorite song off that album has to be Breathe In The Air

It's hard for Dark Side of the Moon to predate anyone, as it was on the charts for something like 14 years. I'm 40 - oh so old Smile, but I remember going to a laser light show at a planetarium, set to Dark Side of the Moon, when I was around 17. I think they still do these around the US, probably not as often though.

I also went to the premier of The Wall (the movie) in Boston when I was 19. That was a bit of a letdown, but still kewl.

Okay cjhsa. You're gonna have to explain that one. Was the double album really sticky? Why? Did you buy it that way?

any elton john album before he got soft--before lion king.
any queen album.
any billy joel album.
men at work, john cougar melloncamp
rolling stones, beatles, yanni, oh some phil collins--most phil collins.

my taste does not vary too much. mostly '80's or '70's stuff. yanni is the only music that i consider really different from what i usually like.

Didn't really read every single post, but enough to wonder where Peter is at :-)

A few I would bring to listen if I was stranded on a desert Island

1.) Peter Gabriel - Melt ( I remember at a party asking the host - who is this? He replied you always ask that, its Peter Gabriel!)
2.) B.T.O. - Not Fragile
3.) Yes - Fragile
4.) Hector Zazou - Songs from the Cold Sea (with: Siouxsie Sioux, Suzanne Vega, Bjork, Mark Isham etc..)
5.) Genesis - untiltled (home by the sea, mama etc.)
6.) Collective Soul - untitled (world I know, where the river flows etc.)
7.) Bush - Sixteen Stone
8.) Frank Zappa - Sheik yer booty
9.) AC/DC - Back in Black
10.) Sneaker Pimps - Becoming X
