I'm very interested in all kinds of music, my tastes very wildly from one extreme to another, from opera to Black Sabbath but my favourite type loosely falls into the list you see below (which isn't as diverse as my music collection)

For me the following are personal classics for different reasons

In no particular order, bands first then album

Nivina - Nevermind
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Portishead - Roseland nyc live
Beastie Boys - Pauls Boutique
Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes
Marilyn Manson - The Last Tour on Earth
Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks
The Charlatans - Tellin' Stories
Reef - Replenish
Rage against the machine - Renegades
Beatles - Revolver
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses

Of them all Portishead is the most memorable just for the sheer outright amazing live performance that was recorded on this CD, quite probably the best live performance I've ever heard!

I love trying new music out so I'm looking for suggestions!

What are your all time favourite albums?

Oh, man, this varies, pretty much by year or day or my mood but currently I'm really, really enjoying a greatest hits release of Marvin Gaye tunes (eek, don't know the title, and I know a bunch of different ones were made). His early '60s work is so different from his late '60s and '70s work that the two CDs are split that way, and it's almost like listening to 2 separate artists.

Just bought hubby the deluxe editions of Who's Next and My Generation (they both have bonus tracks). He's also in White Stripes' Elephant.

Oh yeah, um, And God Shuffled His Feet by the Crash Test Dummies; Wish and The Head on the Door by the Cure; ELO's Greatest Hits, America - History of America; Odelay by Beck; Abacab by Genesis, etc.

Said it before and I'll say it again....

'Dovetail Joint 001' by Dovetail Joint.

They put out one hit song 'Level on the Inside', which caused me to buy the cd in the first place ~ every song on the cd is great!

Haven't heard a peep out of them since. Crying or Very sad

Craven ~ the chef at my restaurant went to see Pearl Jam this past weekend.....

He said the concert was great ~ especially when they played their favourites ~ he said the crowd went absolutely nuts! But, he was disappointed because they played mostly new songs in an effort to promote their new album.

WH,
...Sorta' partial to show tunes, are you? Smile ....I bought those first three albums by Barbra, when they came out, Although I've also owned later ones, I don't think she ever topped those first three.
