He caught some flak for it, exploitation being one word bandied about but I applauded him for this one and his follow-up with the Latin/ Brazilian flavor. Beautiful albums, both of them.

That's a great compilation from the last 30 years.
I especially enjoy the Doors first album...seems to me they never reached that level of quality again.

This little gem is often overlooked. Michael McDonald's second album with the Doobies is full of his keyboard driven arrangements, gorgeous vocals and blue eyed soul.
Whereas Tom Johnsons Doobies were a beer swilling rock band , McDonald took the Doobies in the malt whiskey direction:smooth and bracing.
Apart from two album fillers(Need A Lady and Larry The Logger) this is a solid album. Especially interesting are the two long songs, Chinatown and Living On The Fault Line
