It is strange that the guys with guns running around the desert call themselves "Minutemen". When I first heard this name, it invoked the Minutemen from our history in Massachusetts. But that analogy doesn't make very much sense.
The current minutemen are "natives" who are fighting against immigrants. The original minutemen were immigrants. Some of them fought against natives.
The current minutemen are trying to stop farm workers from working. The original minutemen were largely farm workers.
The current minutemen are very uptight about people who break the law. The original minutemen were all about breaking the law.
I think I was wrong in my assumption that the guys in the desert named themselves after the lawbreaking immigrant fighters from Massachusetts.
Maybe the name minutemen has something to do with the size of a part of their anatomy.
Re: Wither Minutemen
No matter what they call them selves, they are vigilantes.
Vigilantes are people who take the law into their own hands. Isn't that Illegal in the United States?
