Well, if you already had an answer, why would you need mine?
The Bible says Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Does it really? Does it say "Jesus" is the Way, or does it say "Christ" is the Way? For real, I don't know. What's it say.
Actually, Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one gets to the Father except through me."
No, LOL. I am not cajun. I am in Northern Louisiana.
How can you be so sure what Jesus meant by that?
So you don't eat crawfish heads?
How can I be sure of that? I have faith. I think the statement was pretty straightforward.
Crawfish! No way! I can't stand the way they smell when they cook. People here go absolutely crazy when eating those things. The first time I saw it, I was in shock. It's like they are possessed or something.
I am off to bed now, echi. I do enjoy talking with you. Perhaps we can pick this up sometime tomorrow?

Straightforward? C'mon. How do you go "through" someone. You'd have to be like Casper, or something. Right? Anyway I don't see anyone around for me to go through even if I could.
echi,
Well, I don't think He meant physically, do you? Don't you think He meant you need to believe in Him? And, do you need proof of God?
I strongly doubt that's what was really said. The story could have gone through slight, unintentional changes along the way, don't you think? Even before it all got written down?
No, I am not so naive as to ask for or need proof of God.
But I don't see how you get "believe in" when the word is "through". Why didn't Jesus say "believe in"?
And anyway, what does "believe in" mean? Seriously.
echi,
I don't know why He used the words He did. I just know that I believe Jesus is the Son of God, that He was born, crucified and resurrected and that because of that I have the promise of eternal life with Him.
And now, I am really going to bed.
Did the Holy Spirit guide you to that interpretation?
echi,
Dang, you keep drawing me in. Wow, that's a good question. I would have to say yes. I believe my understanding does come from God.

Well he's pretty smart to believe in God!
Wanda
Why? Why is he smart to believe in God? Because it's what you believe?
Prove to me God's existence and then I'll accept his belief as 'smart'. Until then, no one can be called smart for believing in any religious figure or entity; faithful would be a better word.
