Nick- Not at all. I just wanted to clarify my position on these issues, so you might better understand where I am coming from.

Why did you need to say the thing about infringing on your rights? Does anyones faith infringe on your rights?

As Dear Abby would say, "Wake up and smell the coffee". You obviously have not been reading the newspapers for the last few years.

The point would be to try to understand that God, and to try to live your life in a way that meets God's approval.

Basically the same point to life as the family Dog.

Human: Good doggie, have some table scraps.
God: Good primate, have some life after death.

I believe you stated that you are Catholic (Roman Catholic, I assume). I was raised Roman Catholic, although I haven't been a practicing Catholic for 16, 17 years now. IMO there is nothing that is supernatural about God; does my opinion differ from your's?

I take it you say this because you dont understand God. That is because he is supernatural. He has a divine nature which is above our human nature. And so with our human minds, we cant understand God.

Example - the Blessed Trinity: There is a story about (i think) St Augustine, and he was walking along the shore, trying to get his head around the Blessed Trinity. In the story, he saw a boy trying to fill up a hole he had made in the sand with sea water. And every time he poured some water in the hole, it soaked into the sand before he could get more water. St Augustine told the boy he would never be able to fill the hole and he was a fool for thinking he could. But the boy said to Augustine that he was the greater fool, for thinking that he could understand the Blessed Trinity.

God's nature is far superior to ours, that is why he is supernatural by his very nature

(I forgot to say, in the story, the boy was God in disguise)

we dont need to bother defining human nature just now. all i'm saying is that God's divine nature is superior to our nature

"Divine" I can accept, but "supernatural" is nonsense.

beep...beep...
let me back up
If we haven't yet defined human nature, then how can we say what's superior to it?

ok, skip the nature part for now, just take 'human' and 'divine'

Alright. "Human" is the type of animal that we are. "Divine" relates some thing or idea to God, being of God.
