What's new with Newt?

Twice recently I have come across something saying that the Democrats should recruit Newt Gingrich.

For......?

One mention was somewhere on this forum and then I saw it again today in the "Conventional Wisdom" section of Newsweek.

Newt's been off my radar for a while and I'm feeling a bit befuddled.

What's new with Newt?

I've seen his little snarly head pop up here and there on news shows. Last I heard he was "advising" -- who I don't know. I'll look into it.

Hey thanks, FreeDuck. I'm going to check that out. The last time I remember anything about him he was posing with Hillary Clinton at some shin-dig but I can't recall what it was about.

I have a really hard time picturing the democratic party embracing Newt.

If they move any further to the Right they'll get half the Republican Party in with them.

You've got a good point there, goodfielder!

I've got no problem with moderates - I consider myself to be slightly left of moderate - but Newt Gingrich!?

Prolly both at the same time. But, that's just a guess. If the dems recruit anyone left of center, it chould be mccain.

McCain is funny. He reminds me so much of my brother.

My brother says he is a "republican" but when you sit down and discuss politics with him he is often to the left of even me.

Or at least very close to me.

I don't think of him as a Republican just as I don't think of McCain as a Republican.

If you didn't know, my brother is a General in the Army -- having spent nearly 30 years in it.
