@cicerone imposter,
It was Anastasia. Anyway, the question is fine as it was presented by A. She meant it in the most general sense. I was being picky, just to have something to say.

I used to have the answer: The meaning of life is to live it

Lately, I take a slightly different view: The meaning of life is to learn it

Have you thought about this lately? What is life all about? What's our purpose?

Why are we here?

@cicerone imposter,
well, I meant that the cricket analogy to life is based upon the fact that cricket, as life, is composed of great stretches of time with nothing important really happening and then these are punctuated by all sorts of wild **** and deadlines and great sex and successes and failures.

Golf is just a waste of an afternoon

You win on "the great sex" part of your thesis.

@anastasia,
For me, the meaning of life is to learning and setting examples as we venture out making/doing good things out of everything that we come across in life. We are here for a reason and seeking the reason is what makes life go on.

Yes, and it takes a tremendous amount of water to keep the grass green.

Il nostro scopo รจ muovere il magnetismo terrestre. Ogni movimento sposta il magnetismo e di conseguenza tutto il meccanismo universale.

@cicerone imposter,
C.I., I didn't have you in mind, but let me agree with what North said: it's about experience, and with what you DO: travel to every nook and cranny of the world. I do think that life is about experience, sensations, and opportunities. Today, when I woke up, I got out of bed enthusiastically because I had things to do: to hear and play gratifying music, work on a painting, knowing I could make it any way I wish, eat a take-out meal from our favorite Mediterranean restaurant, and return to a novel that I'm enjoying. It's all about opportunity. And then at night, when I'm spent, go to bed and sink into delicious sleep.
