Have fun, fellers, and don't catch a cold.
I could've thought on going, but the dates you set were impossible. It's both my and my wife's birthday.
fbaezer, Those were the best reasons to come to Chicago. You cudda even broght them along for the ride.
I miss our wedding anniversary ... one with a big "O".

We are lucky that bill and timber do not exhibit that inferiority complex about chicago that is otherwise so prevalent in wisconsin.

I suspect you're confusing pity for an inferiority complex. I drove through twice today on my way to and from Detroit to pick up a Smokeeter. Highest sales tax in the Midwest, largest tax base, and seemingly the only State that charges tolls for their roads between Wisconsin and Michigan... yet cumulatively, ya'll can't seem to parlay that into one decent highway. I wonder if anyone's suggested to Dailey to improve the transit system (with some dirt roads or something... preferably with lanes wider than the wheelbase of the average truck)? No need whatsoever for State lines and signs as your highways tell the tale on their own (and have for as long as I can remember). $2.50 for that pot-holed wreck you call a sky-way is equally obscene.
This, without even mentioning that pitiful pseudo-football team you're generous enough to claim as your own.
(Of course, McMahon did have that one very respectable year in his careerÂ… 1996, wasn't it?)
I'm putting aside some warm, flat, Milwaukees' Best for Bill.

What have I done? I was only making a lame joke about Wisconsin!
Just a few more days, Sadly, yall scheduled the arch tour for about the same time I arrive. I will go on a later one. But that is okay. I am told that a bunch of cheerleaders from Texas A&M will be on the bus. Eat you heart out, ci.
I got into a fight last Wed with a box and the box won. I was in the UPS Store filling out forms and a guy came in carrying a box. He claimed he never saw me. He drove the corner or the box into my left kidney area. I went down. He was embarrassed and deeply apologetic and I laughed it off. But I have been somewhat hurting since then. I find that it is difficult to reach around to get my wallet out of my pocket. So yall may have to pay for my drinks. True story.
See yall Friday night unless yall are getting together somewhere for lunch on Friday.
rjb, I'm purposely leaving my wallet at home. We'll challenge each other to see who the best freeloader is. LOL
Drinks on me on Sunday, still looking for the bloody mary mix but ordered the keg of Goose Island IPA today. As for Friday I think I left my money clip at work.
Gees, my heart almost stopped when I read Goose. I was hoping for Grey Goose vodka. LOL
I have been thinking about the vodka for the bloodys. grey goose seems like a waste but then again I do have some vermouth and olives...
And this little story for you cicerone...it is all true:
30 or some years ago I hitchhiked a lot; the US, Europe, Asia, and then through Africa from Cairo to Capetown. We were in Luxor, Egypt. Me and the girl from Scotland and another couple. They were heading back home. I was continuing south. None of us had much money but we decided to splurge by going to the bar of a hotel in Luxor. We dressed up as best we could out of backpacks. The bar people grudgingly let us in.
Turned out that the couple at the next table were the Browns, he a former Gov of California and they the parents of Jerry Brown, who also served as Gov and is now, I believe, mayor of Oakland (?).
Things went real well for awhile and they invited us to join them for dinner (a hitchhikers's dream come true). But then I mentioned the name of a lobbyist who had ties to the former Gov. His wife tugged at his sleeve and they left. Bummer.
Johnboy, first of all, sorry re the hit you took. You might write that up in the store. Not that I am the sueing type, quite the opposite. My knee still sorta surprises me once in a while from the time I tripped over the protruding whatchacallit loglike timbers at the home depot when I was visiting in NM last year. As it happens, I was trying to find a small garden pump for Dys' water garden as Sally the dog had wrested the thigamagig apart - which he has made clear he didn't mean for me togo buy stuff to fix anything... I just tried to, though it turned out not to be that easy in April to find small pumps or their attachments.
Anyway, at the checkout it wasn't clear which line went where how and there was no room for it all, and in turning I lurched against a surprising hangout of slim log. They rushed over to see if I was ok - y'know, that whole checkout counter scene was ridiculous, very poorly planned (and I know something about design) - and, well, me too, I'm poorly planned, as I have somewhat coned peripheral vision, thus I look around a lot, mostly having things turn out ok in daytime all these years.
Still, I immediately blamed myself and waved them off smiling. I'd not sue, in my case, for just about anything at all whether or not it was related to my vision and certainly not for that, but I wouldn't mind the small parcel of dollars to see what is going on with the knee.
Trouble is, in our system, it seems there is no slight help. Either sue for millions or shut up.
Well, I hope your kidney whap gets better, as has my knee splock.
And past my rant, I think our tour gets back on the early side of Friday afternoon, guessing about 1:30 and a few of us may be quite hungry for lunch...
hmmm, the Millennium Grill?
PM if you would so disclose, your location once you land...
Good story, rjb, but that lesson that a little knowledge can be dangerous proves it out again. LOL Gov Sr and Jr Brown, heh? velly intelesting...
I had lunch with Congressman Norm Mineta many years ago at the congressional lunch room at the capitol. That was "my" highlight. I didn't say anything wrong - as far as I know. He didn't leave the table.
Pat Brown... not that I remember much.
I know some present day folks in the CA legislature, but I can't say they're close friends, although they are close to people close to me. Still - I regard them both well and, perhaps, they, me, slightly, their key interest (genuine) being in the person close to me.
Alas, I missed the government gene.
Speaking of the CA legislature, my brother is one. Had many meals with him.

Them Milwaukee's Best are a good thing to have (Just in case you have to induce vomiting to save an addict or something). Just funning you flat-landers in return... don't take it all personally and stuff. I'm sure you already knew about your roads, and the "Bears"...

(

) ()
Guy's wearing a funny hat already.
CI, I suspect your brother doesn't like my friends (ah, but you might), and so what... we both have a bit of momentary engagement.

It's never too soon to be extremely stylish. Worry not... I probably won't wear it
everywhere in Chicago.
I'm not worried, I'd enjoy it if you did...
Yeah! It's a big city. We could lose you.

(just kiddin', Bill!)
