Send a note to the Help Desk with the link to wherever the info is, and we can add it to the initial post in the "just the facts" topic so that it can be found.

Not of such imporatnce, jes, it's only because I got it myself the other day, had looked through it and ... was somehow irritated with the turn of this thread to "Home and Family - Food and drinking".

Oh, I suppose you'd rather read about Chicago than my recipes? Rolling Eyes

Of course not. But I haven't decided on today's bill of fare yet, so you'll have to wait a little while.

Joe mentioned the "Pocket Guide to Chicago Architecture" - it's well worth the money, I'd like to add. Excellently written informations (and nicely done illustrations).

Here's the link again.

(I must have got the last copy stored at amazon Germany: now it takes two weeks to get that book, I've got it within 24 hours  )

Well, if Europe is out of copies, you can always buy the book in Chicago. The Chicago Architecture Foundation has a shop in the historic Santa Fe building, across the street from the Art Institute. Also, the Prairie Avenue Bookshop specializes in architecture books.

I always thought McTag was trying to impress Occom Bill and get a job at one of his restaurants.

Correctamundo, but I think Bill's got the cooking side covered.

Oohh, I'm off-topic again.

(Tonight is another roasted butternut squash, but I'm ringing the changes with the fillings......)

LaughingLaughingLaughing Tough way to impress me too, since I don't cook. You may as well be describing the colors, brushes and techniques used; to sell me a painting. At any rate; you should probably post your recipes in the OCCOM Foolishness thread. In the mean time, come to Chicago, McTag. I'll buy you a drink.

Thanks, O'Bill, very tempting.

And, another reason not to employ me is, I can only cook two meals* in 24 hours, not 200 in two.

* and I eat at least one of those

Sorry, I have but a moment, not enough time to catch up on everthing. Can someone give me an update on what exactly I need to do to be included in the festivities? (Maybe in a PM? That might get my attention better.)

Oh, dear. I just read an article in the NYTimes that mentioned Charlie Trotter's in Chicago, and looked it up. It's out of my price range for this trip, unless they do early morning breakfasts, heh, but the place seems to have a great rep. Sigh.

The Trotters To Go Express looks like a possibility though. Even I've heard of Charlie Trotter's.
