I just heard from another guy I know from previous posts, a professional singer whom I have met and seen and heard, and he told me today he will sing in "Showboat" at London's Royal Albert Hall this summer!
Coincidence!
Congratulations Daggie!

You mean, there might be a live TV coverage of that musical aired in Chicago? Wow!
I'm sure you'll have more oportunities to meet at least the Americans .... and since Europe isn't that big, perhaps ... ?
Actually, there'll be certainly a lots of photos from this event: I've ordered a digital SLR camera (Nikon D 200) and will use my analogue Nikon for black&white pics.
dag has met the dys, what more is there?
after meeting dys, the only excitement left for dag would be show business

Making with dys a big adventure in the land of enchantment
What more is there after dys? Just the Diss, if that ever gets finished. no time.
McTag, my musical will be in less regal space: The Machine under the Ram Rod night club, heh. Ram Rod is the #1 gay bar of Boston. Well, I guess that figures, given the name and all...

Well, she hasn't met ME!!!
Dadgummit.
Can we hope to lure you into Boston one day, Eva?
It's possible. We have friends on Cape Cod (Centerville) we haven't visited in about 6 years. And cousins at Woods Hole, too.
woods hole rules. but cambridge is even awesomer! this year is the year to come to boston!
Why this year? Something special going on?
(Have been to downtown Boston several times, but never made it to Cambridge. Tell me about it.)
Cambridge is, well, it's just Cambridge. It's Harvard, posh and foo foo, but it's also the Central Square with all its bums and random stores and pubs piled one on top of another. It's the red bricks everywhere, but it's also the River Street pizza and kebabs at 3am, the B-Side lounge and Burdick's Cafe. It's the Natural Museum History with a whole floor of glass flowers, and the Whatsitsname Gallery with all the impressionists. Cambridge is home and a must see for Eva.
Yes...it does sound like a place I'd like. High end meets low end with lots of characters and local color. Just my thing.
Again...why THIS year? (I'm almost booked up already on travel.)
because...because....why not?
Bummer Dag... but good for you!
I am sad, Dag, that you won't be there. Break a leg.
I have never been to an A2K thingy before, so I know nothing. But we are two months away. How is the planning going? If we are going to have some sort of "official, communal event." have we settled on where, when, food, drink, cost, etc.
My understanding, my hope, was that around April 1st we could give some concrete details.
I would ABSOLUTELY love to attend, but I'm committed to be elsewhere at that time (a major symposium at my unversity, where I will be showing paintings to my fellow emeritus colleagues and others). On that evening, I shall drink a toast to you all.
