Depends. I may drive down Saturday and just stay the night... or I might be tempted to come late Friday and stay till Monday or even Tuesday, depending on what's going on. Right now it's just too early to tell.

Me too on the too early to tell. Last trip we were there for 3.5 days and that went way too fast. We only saw about half the people we really wanted to see and did about half the things we really wanted to do, and this trip I'd want to do the other half, re-do some of the first half, AND do A2K stuff -- so I'd probably WANT it to be a good week or so, but dunno if that'll be practical for us.

I do want to try to make a point of staying until Monday so I can meet J_B.

Are we still talking about the "main event" being on Saturday lunch/afternoon?

I plan to stay for a week, but still need to decide whether it's the week before or the week after. Probably the week before.

You're a free man, why not come too? (I say that, not sure whether I am; I return from Spain round about May 1st)

I've met timber and Set and I'm sure they'd tell you I argue with them every bit as fiercely as I did before I met them.

I've also met Swimpy, ehBeth, and patiodog, but everything they say is perfection and divinely-inspired, so I have never had any reason to argue, before or after I met them. :-D

I do like the idea of, wherever we have it, having one laptop open and set to A2K with, perhaps, a new account called "Gatherers" and an ongoing series of comments from whomever passes by the laptop on that account (too much trouble to log in, log out, log in, log out IMO), and part of the fun could be people trying to figure out who wrote the latest "gatherer" update.

Has the spot been set yet?

Say the word and I will reserve the party room.

Maybe JP or Timber could figure out a way to stream the party from my webcam.

Have you ever run across this fella named timber? OR this fella named Setanta?

I'll let them answer for themselves, but I really don't think so.

Oh yay sublime I was just thinking of PMing you.

Where do things stand with your condo? If you already answered this and I missed it, sincere apologies, but the stuff I seem to think is pending is a) capacity of the room (how many people, total) and b) options for food (fine to bring in outside stuff?)

I posted this a while back. If there is anything I missed let me know.

Well I finally got info on the party room. The max capacity for the room is 30, if I get the movie theatre it is bumped up to 45. Food is ok and the hours are 9am to Midnight on Sat. and 12pm to Midnight Sun. to Fri. The only major rule is that there is no smoking allowed.

The general location is Irving Park and Lake Shore Drive.

I don't think it is a good idea to turn this thread into a a really funny one - at least I look in here regularily to get the latest news and infos.

Good point.

This is already so long, I think I'm going to go ahead and start an adjunct that has ONLY the most pertinent info. Then we can chat in a general way here, and put pertinent info there as it comes up.
