Will the vinegar make it edible Joe, or just mask the sins?

Oh-I don't know E.

Have you never tried getting a combine harvester out of a big ditch and getting it going again. This doesn't take much energy really. I find it quite relaxing actually.

It's nearly as good as being asleep sometimes.

I guess the company was so engaging that I wasn't paying attention to the condiments. Embarrassed

You know, actually, I don't remember having any of the peas on my plate. But I went to the restroom just as the food was being brought to the table. Hmm. Walter was sitting to my right and Bill to my left. And my lemon wedge was gone also.

Now, there's something with which I have practical, working familiarity ... retrieving large pieces of equipment from places better it shouldn't have got to. Just getting a couple dozen tons of awkwardly shaped, relatively fragile, very expensive (Quarter-Million-Dollar range), 30' wide, 35' long, 18' high piece of gear out of a ditch authoritative enough to immobilize it (a combine is pretty terrain-capable, takes a lot to get one stuck), while seeing to it no further damage is done through the recovery process, is a helluva undertaking, shoots a good part of a workday, involves more real big equipment, plenty of real sturdy chain, some hefty slabs of lumber, a few heavy-duty jacks, several workers, a few hours, and generally results in tearing up a fair dollar amount of crop. Ain't no fun at all, and when its done, everybody's ready for a breather, if not a hot shower and a good, long sleep. 'Specially if the monster gets stuck at night - which is generally when that sorta thing happens.

That's good to know. If you visit Munich one day, I'll take you out to McDonald's then. Wink

Thanks for the invite, but if I ever get to Munich, McDonald's will be the LAST place I'll want to go!

I actually had to travel with a group once that prided itself on scoping out all the American fast food places ahead of time. (Notice, please, I said "once." Rolling Eyes )

I have visited Germany several times. The last time was in 1998. On that trip I went to various "McDonalds" and "Burger Kings". Maybe I have become jaded about traditional German food.

McDonald's has Hamburgers for €1.00. Do Hamburgers count as Germans? We don't have "Germans", but we do have "Amerikaner" -- they're kind of like donuts, but have a different shape.

The trick is, you'll never know because Walter and I will be such engaging company. (And don't we have someone in Augsburg? I think we do, but I forgot the name.)

I can see that. I actually prefer the traditional German food I had in Saint Louis and Chicago over that in Germany.

Modern combines use a SatNav navigation system, don't they, on the prairie. That's amazing.

I just amazed myself.

I only used the expression "combine harvester" because I thought that Americans might not be familiar with our big lumps. Poetic licence I suppose. Sorry if I confused anybody.

Anyway-it uses up a lot more energy than a bit of posting which is where we came in with the lady's observation.

Timber is right though. It is usually at night and it's invariably pissing down as well.

(didja click on the photo in my post? I was debating on the value of a Hot Italian vs a German Cool I'd already ruled out the vegetarian and the Polish. I do have some standards.)

So it's easy to be a poopity-head.
Will wonders never cease.

I'd always thought of it as pissing into the wind, not pissing down.

Okay, then. I take it back. I would go to McDonald's if you and Walter were there.
