I'm enjoying the architectural shots of the city altho' I was born and raised there. Seeing Pippin's Tavern bought tears to my eyes almost but geez, altho' I can't rightfully remember now where it is, believe me, I marched passed it a thousand times. I want to say Chicago Ave. area or maybe Diversey? Help me out JB? Or was it Sublime who said that they work nearby?

It was wandeljw who works nearby. Which street is that? I've done time in Pippin's tavern. Must have been while I was in art school. Rolling Eyes

Hey, I've been to Chicago once, and I remember Pippin's Tavern. Just off Michigan Avenue, isn't it?

eoe,

Pippins Tavern is on Rush Street between Chicago Avenue and Pearson. It is right around the corner from Loyola University. Did you go to school there?

sozobe, I missed the Evolving Planet wing, because there were so many others that I spent my time. I think it's the only section of the Field I missed on this trip.

I have some other pictures of Chicago that might be worth the nostalgia from some ex-Chicagoans. It was for me my last hurrah to Chicago after having lived here three times during my life, and I think this trip did it for me very well in five days.

I went to Ray College of Design which was located, at that time, on the corner of Michigan Ave. and Chicago Ave. Gosh, I can remember those words "I'll meet you at Pippin's" as if they were uttered just yesterday.

Yes, it's not far from Michigan and Chicago Aves on Rush. I walked further north on Rush, but didn't recognize anything from my past. Even walked along Clark Street, but over 90 percent of it has changed. I sort of missed "my" old Chicago, but progress cannot be stopped.

This is where many christian hymns were composed. The church recently burnt down, and they are trying to raise the money to restore it.

The New Trump Tower is planned to be the tallest in the world (or was that Chicago).

C.I.,

Trump Tower is planned to be the world's tallest. Donald Trump was in Chicago yesterday. At a press conference he stated that space in that building has already been sold or leased at a record rate.

If I remember correctly from our architecture tour, the guide said the Trump Tower will be the tallest reinforced concrete building in the world.

Some built with traditional steel beams will still be taller. (But don't say that in front of The Donald.)

It wasn't me, Bill. My guess would be sublime. You were winning, weren't you?!

Honestly. Only a man would post a picture of himself like that. Laughing
