I make my own bread too, but not always. There are a couple of bakeries around here that do really good hearth breads, almost as good as La Brea Bakery's, and Nancy Silverton of that firm is one of the US top breadmakers.
Anyway, not your usual supermarket stuff.
When I lived in the Bay area there was a bread store in San Carlos I loved... here (Seattle) we don't eat much bread and I very seldom make it.
