Nyah ha ha.
Woo hoo! It's about time!
The only Major League game I have ever seen was the Astros v Giants at Houston in 1996. The Astros won. I enjoyed it immensely, especially the bit that involved drinking big buckets of beer up the back of the stadium. Good luck to them in the World Series.
Oh and a bloke proposed to his girlfriend and it was shown on the big video screen. She said yes. The crowd thought it was great. So did I. I celebrated for them and had some more buckets of beer.
I celebrated all night long by sleeping soundly and getting up to go to work.
Me too, edgar. Sounds like the fans were pretty rowdy downtown last nite, but no property damage or injuries.
Gonna be a good one. Houston, first time to the world series (?), and Chicago off a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally long drought.
I have no opinion of the final outcome, just a fervent hope my team stomps the other's ass good and proper in four straight.
My wife waited in line 45 minutes to get a tee shirt, one of the secondary line, because there were none of the others available. The clerk refused to sell more than one to a customer, because there were so many waiting patiently.
I look forward to watching the slaughter. Hoping it happens to both Clemens and Pettite.
i don't really care who wins.
hoping the weeknight games don't drag on till the wee hours o' the marnin'...
What, you don't like 18-inning games?
Not so fast, edgar and mac! (You should be very worried about the White Sox.)
Why should we worry. We aren't going to be playing.
Good point, edgar. (I was only joshing, anyway)
We gonna whip em like we was they daddy.
mac, not so much.
last october i was a sleep-deprived zombie.
i don't think i fully recovered until december or so...
George, could you please turn that down?
The Astros began the season something like 15 games below 500. I didn't expect them to be in the running for a wild card. They showed amazing resilience after that, and it is now hard to dismiss them as a possible team of destiny. I don't pretend to know enough about baseball or the individual teams to make any predictions, I'm just happy they got this far. If they get to the end of the final game, with the outcome riding on a single last strike, then they lose, that will be another matter . . .
