I don't see where racism would play into this.
Clearly your contract stated that you are required to work
on Saturdays not Sundays.
If your manager is implying you also need to work Sundays
in order to keep the job, they misrepresented their initial
employment offer, and you need to discuss this with
human resources, however, it still isn't racism.
You have noticed that all new employees were hired because
they knew someone within the company, and that's
perfectly legitimate, since references from people
already employed with the firm are probably regarded in
higher esteem. Where does the racism come in?
You said, they have black and white people employed,
and agency workers are of another race. So it seems the
company has a variety of mixed races employed.
You want a job and you deserve a job - I agree, however
in order to keep your job, you need to actually work up to
your job expectations.
I'm still a bit confused, but I think Mindsay might mean reverse racism. As in, she (?) might think she got the job because of her race, even though she wasn't actually qualified. (??)
minDSAY, What race are all the people working there that you aren't mentioning. You left out the main detail.

Yes, that is what I mean.
Amigo, I'm Indian.
I think there is a bit of racism in the background. The agency workers are not permanent. The staff at the workplace don't get to choose agency staff. That is why I see something wrong.
American Indian or east Indian

None of them

British Indian. Is there any other kind of Indian?
P.S there is nothing wrong with Jane

I think you answreed your own question here. If there is an openeing and the only people that know about it are already working there and they refer their friends/associates then you are more likely to get people of the same race or ethnic background.
The odds are that for most of us, the majority of friends/associates we have will be from the same race or ethnic background as we are.
Forgive me for coming in from a different angle here but Mindsay might you be suffering a little from Imposter Syndrome? I'm not suggesting you are but I was doing some research into this idea last week and I suppose it's still resonating with me. If you google "imposter syndrome" you will see what I mean.
Best of luck - stick with it.
Imposter sydrome....? Never heard that one before
It was identified some years ago. No doubt there is some controversy that it actually exists and also there may be some doubt about it applying only to women (I'm not sure if it's a feminist theory) but in my own experience (and I'm a bloke) it does exist. Like anything else, if we're aware of it we can deal with it.
