I don't know. I do know they will try to stop such movements any way they can.
I think UNICEF is using that rule of behaviour that suggests that we only really react to horrible events when they touch us.
There's a huge earthquake in Pakistan, thousands are killed, we make a tutting noise and frown and reach for the wallet.
There's a bus crash in our town, twenty people are killed...
I won't go on because you understand what I mean. I can't think of the technical term for it, if there is one.
We probably identify more closely with Smurfs than Pakistanis or Burundians. Smurfs are our family, friends, neighbours. People in tragedy a world away who come from a very different culture are merely strangers.
