Plus, my difficulty is not all so far away. If my house doesn't sell, I will be in deep doo doo, just as bankruptcy (sp) becomes much harder. I am not talking from some plane above here.

i had to go see my councilor today and she gave me those to read.
I love her. Sometimes she says nothing to me and just hands me papers.
Sometimes she screams at me because I wont get off my ass.
She is great to me and for me.

Tangent, and I know this is not about me, but as a fill-in -

On albuquerque, I certainly hope to. I am all packed. My house is on the market, just as real estate goes to slugville here. Plus, mine is a fixer upper. It is a primo house, one of the best craftsman houses around, including in the bay area and southern california, but in a fairly isolated city, and needing repair I can't do. I've done the beefy stuff, like electrical and plumbing, at least to stubout, but not... the kitchen, nor the cosmetics.

That is my fault... We'd just finished total restoration done by me and my husband on our last house when he needed room (an epic there, let's skip that for now). We dithered for a few years and he gave me the house with mortgage and took his own inheritance which was his in the first place. But well he should since I paid his way for years while he wrote.

(now there's a summary)

So... against common associations, we got along well when we did our last house.. it was afterwards that was the problem. When I got here, I had no doubt I could do it again. But .... while I cared, and went at it, I didn't have the money or the self grip to follow up, long story.

If my house sells tomorrow, I'm okay. (It won't.) If it doesn't, my situation devolves. We'll see.

I'm really sorry nobody seems to want to give a person a second chance. Hopefully, somebody will happen along with a different attitude.

wow osso, that really bites the big one.
is the market there going to **** for a reason?
like flood planes, earthquake line..etc.. ? something that people would be scared of in the wake of these hurricaines and tsunamis?
or is it just that area?
can you advertise it all over the country ?

The real estate bubble in California is a risk of bursting---as it has done before. Home prices are super inflated above their actual value. I, and my son, bought and then sold our California homes at just the right time.

Oh man, Shewolf. I just saw this update. I'm so sorry, I know you had high hopes on this one.

Would you consider calling the woman back and, in a neutral a tone as possilbe, ask her what went wrong? You could explain that you need to understand what the stumbling blocks were so you can try to get on with you life. Even if you already have a good feel for what was behind the decision, its not a bad idea to ask her for the specifics.

i have thought about that.
That is how I have learned about other laws in place ( the bingo hall for example)

truthfully im not angry at her at all. She was a great woman with as wicked a sense of humor as I have. ;-)
I believe her when she said " she cant hire".
just a little angry at first is all..

And the real estate market isn't crashed here, it's just slowed, prices not rising, but also not going down. Yet.

I'm glad to see your strong response to the interview outcome, Shewolf, very glad.

Oh, shewolf...I am heartbroken for you. Crying or Very sad

It truly IS their loss as sublime has said.

Your therapist is awesome. I read and re-read the quotes she gave you and they even gave me courage and strength and I'm not even the one facing the dilemma as you are.

We're all human and frail to some extent and we ALL make mistakes and pay the price. I just get so angered that forgiveness of our past regressions is so hard for so many to find. Sad

In the sadness that you may feel, try to keep in mind that if this job was not meant to be, it only means that a better one awaits.

yeah. I know that the future can always hold better , but i cant see that far right now.
I am calmed over the situation. Still embarassed, a little ticked, but calm all the same.
im kinda stuck in the ' oh fuk it' catagory for the moment.
Sort of feeling the defeat for a while.
Im not slouching though.
I am working on getting more clients and fast. I have submitted my ad in 2 small local papers this morning and I gave a specific outline as to what times I am available and what work I do.
Im hoping to fill another 6 hours in a week by next friday. That would give me almost 600 a month in simple cash and for less then 15 hours of work per week.
This small business i will cling to for as long as I learn to keep it afloat.
It would have been a bonus to have the day care job, but I wont sink without it.

Your attitude is remarkable! I know you are reeling a bit from this situation, but you are already getting up, dusting yourself off, and forging on! What courage you have! I know that your business is going to be a big success. How can it not be? You have what it takes! All the best to you!

I'll bet you're running them in the Greensheet and Thrifty Nickle, right?

Keep track of how many clients you get from each one.....
When the wolverine was doing remodeling, we realized after a while the bulk of the work was coming from 1 of the papers, and better quality work too.

We would get some calls from the other ad, but more often they were things that weren't even worth his time.

Don't be disappointed if their aren't many calls from the ads for the first few weeks.

I think people look at them for a while to see which ads repeat themselves week after week, and are not fly by nights.

When the calls did start though, there were times when the phone never stopped ringing.

Parentwise only has one opening for 7 days and chronicle back page was full until the end of the month, but i filled one anyways
Next i was going to tackle the statesman if i dont get a good responce from them
