Shewolf--

Line up your ducks, but don't count your chickens.

At least you'll spend tonight in semi-pleasurable anticipation.

Hold your dominion.

Hey, that's absolutely great news! I'm happy for you and your family!

Funny thing is, it looks like my oldest daughter has got a similar job lined up herself. It's for before and after school care within the school.

Mom and dad are holding their breaths hoping this one is going to work out okay.

You might be asked to help put on a Christmas or Easter party, assuming it's a Christian church of some denomination. There also might be a few storybooks on the shelves that have a religious bent. I'm guessing you will be fine as long as you don't refuse to help with this type of thing.

but the reality is your training is a big plus in a situation like this.

and this is my number one selling point.
This position is for a day care provider for all church activities, traveling or not. I truly believe this is the big reason she has called me back so quick. So, selling point 1) - medical training, emergency room experience
2) creative mommy conquests.

Im sorry everyone.
I dont really have a problem with it being a church. I didnt mean to make it sound like I was second guessing my self. If I felt it was that bad of a thing to do, I wouldnt apply.
I can pretend, I can wear a maks and even join in to the group Amens if that is what it takes to help me keep my family afloat.
I dont hate the religion, I hate some of the people who claim it .
But, since i will be working in this situation and not forced to- because it is my choice- I can handle it with grace.
My answer though.. hehe.. I think it is pretty good
If i am asked about my religion I say -

I was raised to believe that your relationship with the creator is personal and private. Having encorporated that belief in my life. I have gained alot of personal strength. Iknow I can tackle anything so long as I hold fast to my personal rituals .
Yes, there is power in numbers , and great benefits to large sunday rituals, but I save that need for when I cant handle something on my own. So you will see, I am a bit of a quiet person when it comes to my thoughts, but I hope that explains it for you.

i dunno..
Sound good??

Shewolfn,

If they don't give you the job, they are the ones losing out. I don't really know you but from what you have posted, you are a very sincere, honest woman who cares about her family, and the feelings of others.

Blessings to you!

That sounds just fine, shewolf. They're actually looking for someone who would rather stay with the children while church activities are going on...i.e., not interested in attending services. At least, this has been the case in churches I've been involved with. As long as you don't run down their belief system, they'll most likely leave you alone.

Oh, and about this...

I know whatcha mean. <sigh> I don't like 'em all, either. Fortunately, there are some good people in the mix. I'm sure you'll figure out who's who when you get there.

Oh, Shewolf girl! How wonderful is that news? I am so happy that you are given this opportunity. You are such a love and would be a true asset to any company. But this is even better than just "any" company. The chance to go to work and take Bean with you is the best!

I wish you every bit of success and joy and happiness!! Very Happy

so, im dancing .
She offered me the job.

Very Happy

now, she knows about the back ground, but im still nervous as hell. I mean, what if, she gets it all in writting/ print.. and changes her mind.
She can do this..

She said, if the paperwork comes back in time, I can start friday morning .
I asked her what would bar me from starting then..
she said " only if it doesnt come back by then. I have to have it before you start"

what paper work is she waiting for? Is it just your references, or are they running a background check?

Our church does a background check on anyone working in the nursery, day care or youth group. We would disallow any registered sex offenders, but, as long as you were upfront with your story, I'm sure we would hire you.
