Constantly people call the school that I work at and just go.. sorry I have the wrong number... Now I answer the phones
So I say ok... and then they wait for me to keep talking.. or I say ok thank you
Sometimes people will continue to say sorry..
How do I get them off the phone without being rude and hanging up.... you never know if it is a mystery shopper seeing how I will react...
Ask if there is anything you can do, express your regret and wish them good luck when they dial again.
You could also review the telephone number to see where they might have gone wrong.
I didn't know Real People answered telephones any more. Good for you.
When they say, Oh, wrong number, you cheerfully say, That's OK -- Have a nice day! and hang up.
Put a smile on your face even if you have to force it -- it comes through in the tone of your voice and I don't think people will be offended if you're nice about it.
Why not install the new school answerphone system...........

Funny as the is LE I work at a trade school, we are all adults here, no children... though some do act as though they are children
