Asked by a British journalist of an American General on television today about Weapons Of Mass Destruction:
"Will this be the first war in human history which ends before the cause is discovered?
Was the question Sarcasm or Reality I wonder ?
That was a great question. I wonder what the answer was.
He dodged or had too much sense to answer it!
John, Actually, there was no way for him to answer that question. Any answer would have been his death-nell. c.i.
Not really - he coulda just repeated the party line rah-rah about "liberation" and "perceived threat", and 78% of Americans (apparently) would've thought that was a dandy answer.
snood, They've already used those two as justification for this war. c.i.
And enough of us are asleep at the wheel that Bush is getting everything he wants. I was simply replying to the assertion that this general couldn't have answered the question without stepping in it - of course he could have. It has taken only gall and persistence for them to make their illogical case so far. Why shouldn't they continue?
And the dead count approaches 3,000 - if it already hasn't. c.i.
There's a cause, alright. That serves only a select few. You and I just don't know what it is.
It's a cute play on words.
I like it.
In other words, like cause and effect. We just gotta wait to see who gets the payoffs at the end? It sure ain't the Iraqis and the soldiers fighting this war. c.i.
