You mean to tell me my post came out okay, 100%? Mine gets cut off about midway in my post, and half of the post is blank.
That's exactly what I mean. No blank spots. The final picture is of the stairs you've traversed 1000 times. 100%, and terrific work.
I suspect you need to adjust some resources on your computer or something if it can't show it all. But I am not competent to tell you if, let alone how.
Regards!
As always, Tak, great photos and narrative. Thank you. I am looking foward to more pics...perhaps one with you in it.

The two youngsters to my right in this picture are my daughter M and her boyfriend, Danny. They joined us for lunch and the architecture boat tour on Friday. M, Danny, and S-boy all got along famously throughout the visit.

@Nevermind,
Well, plan on a stop along the way at the very least! Chicago is great about 8 months of the year. November through February.... not so much.

@cicerone imposter,
I was surprised to learn that Sammy Fender is part of the famous Taylor family. Koko T was his aunt.

I'd better say my "thank yous" to the Chicagoans for being great hosts again, and spending time with us "out of towners."
Love you all!

Great images cicerone. you made me homesick.
I just wanted to point out to all of you movie buffs that this is the infamous staircase featured in "The Untouchables" with Kevin Costner, Sean Connery and Robert DeNiro where, in a terrific slowmotion shot, a baby carriage bounced down the stairs unharmed in the midst of a shootout between gangsters and g-men.

Thanks very much to c.i. for marvellous pics and diary. Evidently a "labour of love".
Much appreciated.
That stairway & building reminds me of Milan railway station, but is better kept.

Izzie, Thanks for the pictures.
While in Chicago for four full days and one morning, I walked 86,413 steps to walk the pavements of the city.
Several years ago when I did a New Year's cruise to the Caribbean, I walked from Coral Gables to Miami - about 10 miles, but I had blisters on my feet, because I didn't take a rest stop.

Aw, I miss Chicago!
That train is either the one or just like the one that serves as the "Santa Train" in December -- we took a ride with sozlet when she was two or so, she was starstruck ("I SAW SANTA!!!") and generally thought it was fabulous (gingerbread cookies, caroling, etc. etc.)
I like the blur effect you got in a few pics, and that's the best one I've seen of Joe! You can tell he's a smartie.
outstanding! could almost make me want to visit chi-town if there was anyone there I'd like to chat up. well maybe joe if he wasn't such a rightwing nut.
