<thank you, kiddo (heh, I don't really think of you as kiddo - so, not). Means a lot, sincerely.>

Moving along, tears, back to being obnoxious....

Is there a separate thread for the trip to Boston, or is it all here??

btw Mrs McTag and I have decided to go on a fly-drive to the States in the autumn, and the intention is to drive coast to coast.

So look out.

Well that really stirred up a storm of apathy.

(Probably attention-seeking, just ignore him and maybe he'll go away)

Shocked Do you have any idea how much driving that is?

No.
But Mrs McTag wants to do the driving. She's Thelma, I'm Louise.

I did go across the States once on a Greyhound bus from NYC to LA by way of Washington, Dallas, El Paso and Sacramento but that was a long time ago.

Well then he can save us a table. Everyone else will be there at 5:30.

Walter called me and basically said that the most important thing is to tell the "others" I have arrived in Chicago. He himself mentioned something about the Berghoff at 5:00. I told him that I believe it is supposed to be at 5:30. He said "Whatever. Just post that I am here!"

Laughing Hmm. Consider this: If you drive like Walter, only stopping for gas; it will still take 48 hours of driving.

Hope you guys are having lots of fun. Wish I could join you.

The dinner meet was successful; we all had a good time. Unfortunately, the restaurant had some stove problems, and their menu was minimized, and I couldn't order the snitzel. Otherwise, the sausage plate was good. Walter looked good after being up for some 24 hours straight, but I thought it best to let him go back to the hotel to rest up before tomorrow mornings breakfast meet at Au Bon Pain. More later.

I hear NASA makes some diapers that are a big help with that sort of thing...

Thanks for the update, C.I.!

Glad eagle landed well.

Au Bon Pain, schniff....

Hmm, maybe I'll have an omelet for breakfast, ala au bon pain (no croissants in my cupboard).

After breakfast, I walked with Walter and C.I. to the free trolley that goes to Navy Pier. They are probably there now! Walter and C.I. act pretty wild when they are together. I hope they have a safe time at Navy Pier. Smile

(as I watched the trolley go by, C.I. was hanging out a window taking photographs)

between the two of them, it's darn near impossible to avoid a camera. Hopefully they'll find lots of pretty flowers to take pictures of at the gardens this afternoon.

I didn't have my camera. (Why would I bring a camera when Walter and C.I. are both with me? Anyone would be embarrassed to have their own photos compared with Walter and C.I.'s photography. Smile )

btw i was sorry to find out that "the bunny club" is no longer operating in downtown chicago .
would have been a great place for walter and c.i. to have breakfast .
mrs h and i had some great breakfasts there in the 70's ! Very Happy - it was quite a respectable restaurant for breakfast - no problem putting it down as "business expense"
