My brother and Sister in law just had their first kid. A darling of a boy named Evan William. We went and saw him for the first time over the weekend. He is the first nephew/niece/grandchild of the family as well as the first great-grandchild. I'm sure he'll be spoiled rotten.
They asked us (my wife and I) to be the ones in charge in case anything happens to them. We, of course, agreed.
congratulatations!
how does it feel to be a god-parent?
Yay and congrats! We are aunt and uncle twice (once for each side of the whole famdambly). It's fun.
Congrats!! New additions to the family are always great :-)

Strangely grown-upish.
None of us are very religious so we aren't doing the whole baptism/guiding them spiritually thing. Just there in case something ever happens.
Thanks for the congrats, everyone.
Of course, the real congrats go to the parents... they did all the hard work.
Congratulations, JP!
Its cool to be an uncle ;-)
congratulations to you for being a good part in that childs life.
Congratultions to the MOMMA for birth'n it
so..
can I call you Uncle.. ?
Make the most of being the uncle. You get to have fun then hand 'em back when they start to cry/pee/poop.
If you're EVer inMilwaukee...

Central IL
It is about a 4 hour drive from Milwaukee.
Pretty easy drive as well. Two tollways and you're there.
I've already taken full advantage of that
Congratulations, jp--and to Mrs. jp as well. You realize that you've just jumped a generation?
Hold your dominion.
Congrats to Aunt and Uncle jp, and the Mom and Dad!!
Honk the horn as you drive past my house on your way to visit them in IL. I'm within a mile of I-94.
What awesome news, jp! I just love happy news! Congratulations to you and your missus. Your brother and his wife must think (as we do!) that you and your wife are pretty darned terrific folks to bestow such an honour upon the two of you!
Best of wishes to the entire family for this wonderful event of having a new baby amongst you! Spoiled is correct and rightfully so!
Thanks again every one.
Noddy,
Jumping a generation is tiring work. Either that or I'm not as young as I used to be.
J_B,
We just missed each other last night then. I drove right by. 94 and and where?
Lady J,
Spoiled may be an understatement. That kid has so much stuff already, they may need to move to a bigger house just to find a place for it all.

Near Deerfield, Walgreen's corporate headquarters is on the east side, golf course on the other. I'm in the woods behind the golf course.
