Not to worry mysteryman...I am sure that with a little investigatory effort, the left will be sure to blame Bush for this one as well.

It is though quite unfortunate that there are low-lifes such as Floyd...he should be drawn and quartered...perhaps in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

hmmm. should all thieves be shot?

what worries me more than one crook stealing cases of food aid is that tons of food aid from Great Britain sit in storage houses and are not being distributed, and can even meet the fate of incineration, because they don't comply with u.s. regulations. they are perfectly fine for british soldiers in iraq, but not for victims of katrina. i find it baffling. is it that difficult to respond to an emergency with exceptions to the rules and regulations? beats me.

That happens too often dag. It's either stolen, kept in warehouses, or it meets political red tape or who knows what else.

Then why even bother, and go through the motions of asking for collections if they are not going to get to the people that need them.

How much help do you think really gets to the needy dag?

Well, they have a Republican mayor in Kenner, Cedric Floyd is his chief administrative officer, who has had several quarrels with the Democrats - but the police is led by a Democrat (and former mayor candidate)

Now I'm waiting what turn is taken here Laughing

AE, I have no idea. There are probably some data available on that somewhere online, this was just one of the stories that was talked about in the press in the last two days or so.

i really don't think that whether floyd is republican or a democrat does or should matter. he is a thief and should be dealt with as such. court, decision, penalty. done.

That is no justification for what this individual did. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Historically, crimes committed during a disaster, which involve taking advantage of the situation, such as looting and profiteering, have been treated as much more serious than the same crimes during normal times. For instance, looters are often shot on sight.
