Using only two 2's and any combination of mathematical signs, symbols and functions can you make 5?
Blaine is Back!
Hint: use division to make a "one" first.
I got 2*(2+1/2), but you need 3 2's for that
Any more hints?
Aha, actually I had missed the restriction on the amount of '2's allowed. I really should read these things.
How about (2+2+2+2+2)/2 = 5?
You used more than two 2's.
Can't do that.
Laura
Using only 2 twos
2 to the zero power plus 2 squared equals 5

In trying to fill out my profile, I did not know what was wanted from the following: ICQ#, AIM address, MSN messenger and Yahoo Messenger.
And I just joined a riddle forum?
Good thing I saw this - normally questions like this aren't picked up unless on Forum Help.
The questions re AIM, ICQ, etc. are optional. Fill them out if you want to. If not, don't worry about them.
Also, we have a LOT more than just Riddles. By the way, Texan, welcome to Able2Know! :-D
hey Laura, you're answer ended up being .5 and not 5, so Blaine does it have to be a whole number?

riddler, you missed the decimal point in front of the first "2" in Laura's response.

Nope, my answer ended up 5.

Silly
(2/2) * 5
Noone restricted the use of digits other than 2
I like Laura's response better, however.
Just a slight modifacation:
The modulus of [ laura's answer ] = 5
(Laura gets +5 or -5)
2 divided by 2 =1
1+2+2=5
when u said using only two 2's did that mean we cant use any other numbers????
