In his address just a few minutes ago, George Bush outlined a plan to rebuild the devastated city of New Orleans.
Seemingly every couple of mnutes, he was mentioning initiatives involving churches, faith, religion.
While I am sure that many churches did wonderful work both before and after the storm, the amount of reference to religious organizations during the speech would seem to indicate that Bush plans to involve the churches in the rebuilding of New Orleans right from the get-go.
It surely appears Bush plans to turn New Orleans into an advertisement for greater church involvement in government. More social programs to be administered by the churches, fewer by the government. And I am sure Bush has ideas up his sleeve on how the churches can be brought into even further prominence in the new city's administration.
Under the guise of humanitarianism, Bush plans to introduce theocracy in America, starting with New Orleans.
We can't let the govt do everything.
It would be nice if the government did something
We need neither big government nor small - we need an efficient government.
That's never going to happen, GW. They have established too many firewalls.
I can dream can't I? Norway keeps looking better and better.
