The headline leads one to believe that there was a mass exodus from the Pearl Jam show because of his anti Bush display.

The reality is dozens left. Dozens out of thousands in attendance.
From those dozens don't forget the people who AlWAYS skip the encore so as to get the jump on traffic.

Not exactly a mandate would ya say?

I hate listening to musicians blab on for minutes on end at concerts. Just shut it and play.

I feel the same about newscasters and politicians.

True. Unfortunately, some musicians think they are newcasters and politicians.

Everybody is free to go to a pearl Jam concert, and leave it.

Everybody, including celebs, have the right to express their views about anything they want.

Difference being politicians and newcasters are older, and have spent a lot more time coked and liquored up.

Sure, they have the right. But people don't pay $50+ for a ticket to listen to the musician's worldly views. I don't care listening to comments here and there, but ever listen to a lead singer start babbling on for 10 minutes straight? It's a little frustrating.

I agree with Slappy. When you're paying to go to the show, they need to shut up and play. The performers can vent their views through the media, even embed it in their music, but don't lecture me at the show.

I've been known to yell "You sing! We paid to hear you sing!" when they turn the microphone to the audience. That bugs the hell out of me too.
