But will help us get to the truth so that what went wrong can be corrected? I think the Republicans will concentrate on trying to protect the Bush administration and blame everyone else rather than get to the real facts.

A bi-partisan congressional committee cannot investigate Katrina because members of congress have much to explain about their own roles in policy mistakes they have made.
It must be an independent investigator to be credible.

All the above are true , alas. However, politics, being what it isnt, will probably have mayor Nagin sitting at the right hand of GW tonight.
More heads need roll in Fema and Homeland "Security". Ditto in the governors office.
