La governors are rascist!!

The reason I say that is simple.
Since 1877 there have been a total of 3 republican governors,and 30 democrat governors.

Yet,with all their talk about helping the poor,improving their living conditions,providing them with jobs,and generally improving there lives and making their lives utopia,there are still many blacks living at or below the poverty line in La.

Now,there are only two possible explanations for that.
Either the dems lied,or they are rascist.

We all know that dems cant lie,so they must be rascist.

Just so nobody can argue about the La governors,here is a list of all of them since 1877...

nope. democrats weren't promising all those things back in 1877, or even 1957, and i don't think they ever promised "utopia". but anyway, if democrats don't lie, as you say, then i guess Kerry was right about the wrong war at the wrong time. if you agree to that, then maybe i'll agree that some dems are racists. Strom Thurmond, for instance, said in 1948 when he was a democrat, "All the laws of Washington and all the bayonets of the Army cannot force the Negro into our homes, our schools, our churches."

not personally, you didn't. i've been a democrat from time to time, but never set foot in La, so i shouldn't get riled up. i suppose i should have said you & mm got the democrats goat, except that sounds awkward. mm hasn't taken my offer to admit that Kerry called the war correctly, but i'll go ahead and say that i'm sure there are democrats who are both racists & liars. on the other hand, i'm neither so i'm not being hypocritical if i question a politician's statements or attitudes.

yeah, and i have a hard time believing that Colin Powell or JC Watts is a racist, just because they're in the GOP.

here's my cynical view of the state of the union. poverty's been around in the USA for a long, long time; it's too simplistic to blame one party for it. they each claim to know how to fix it, and then find excuses when they can't fix it, usually because of something the other party did. oh well, it's still the greatest country on earth, they used to say, but when something like Katrina happens, the status quo/business as usual isn't good enough.

Wow! What a classic strawman argument. There is some truth in it however. Before the civil rights movement, the party of the Southern racist was the Democratic Party. On another thread, it was pointed out that MM must have been asleeping during civics classes as he thinks our government is a plebiscite. Looks like he wasn't paying attention in history class either.
