This is a bit of a rant, walk away if you don't want to read a book. I'm angry. I'm angry for the rest of the world, and I'm angry for sane Americans. I'm so sorry so many morons didn't vote, and too many that did, did it to inflict pain. Ye gods.

So, today, day 1785, Trump and the Fox government smeared on your honourable-ish country again. They dropped a doozy. What was that?

They want to strip people of the right to Habeas Corpus.
Basically once you're in jail, there is no way to fight for your liberty, your freedom.

There so much freedom. So many choices to consume, to buy, to replace. TO SPEND. So many freakin' choices.
Well, not if you have a uterus. Yeah.. so um where were we. Yes. Freedom. So much freedom.
Unless... If your arrested with no due process, or even if you did get some but then you went to court and well, let's say it didn't go as planned, because well, you live in a different era now, and due process doesn't mean what it used to mean, you'll have no avenues to legally fight your way out. Jailed indefinitely.

The USA is broke. They owe more than they can pay.
They took all your tax money, and now they don't want to give any of it back in services etc. They are greedy. They can't keep it if the government works, or if they have to pay for you or your health or education, or roadways, food, signed contracts, employee wages, pensions, or well just about anything. Vets? They served, what good are they now? Captain bone-spur doesn't respect your service, just a big fat military parade.

The Dems didn't have the balls to reinstate them, but at least they didn't **** with the world economies and left you in pretty good shape employment wise etc. You had a functioning federal government that hadn't grown in decades.
And they understood that jails make money, (like I said, honourable-ish) but even they weren't this diabolical.

Years ago, the United States government cut manufacturing.. to the bone, in favour of sky high profits and job cuts. But they never banked on the other countries taking all those pennies and turning them into gold, becoming the competition.

And they have growing middle classes, outpacing the west's downfall. They've curtailed some of the greed inherit in capitalism and wholly crappolla invested back into the infrastructure and people. Not Mars. Huh!
It's almost as if a stable or growing middle class and not the billionaire class is good for your economy. Whodathunk.
See once the gov. and the brightest minds, envisioned a world where you didn't get your hands dirty, you were going to do the high end service jobs, like controlling the stock market, or the computer industry. They never considered that unless you kept up with infrastructure, and educational standards, that expertise was bound to follow the talent, not the other way around, especially as the industry because more mobile.
Instead, you saddled your best and brightest with enormous debts... Student loans they will never pay off. Gave them intern jobs that don't pay, expensive shrinking housing/dreams, failing utility infrastructure, escalating food costs, and so on while all the bankers get dividends, in a system that just keeps giving and taking and giving and taking, and taking, and taking, and taking.
And now you're scaring brown or people with funny accents away. They are engineers, scientists, doctors, brilliant minds with great educations, but they are afraid of a knock on the door or getting pulled over by Rambo and ending up in a nightmare, in a jail, in limbo with a metallic blanket and no connection to the outside.
It's ok, the rest of the world is welcoming them if they can get out in time.

I'd imagine Bezos felt a little of that terror he wants his employees to feel. California has the 4th largest economy in the world but has more renters than home owners. They have the biggest economy in the US but the 4th highest average wages in the nation. Imagine that, the average person hasn't seen the benefits, cause the rich do it all, or so it seems.
The middle class is dead.
Americans voted in the Republicans, the traditional "cut taxes" party - but for whom? Trump's Tariffs just gave YOU the largest tax increase in the history of the country.
And yet they are still looking to give the uber rich even more tax cuts.
And have those tax cuts ever trickled down?
Do you have high speed rail/transit, affordable housing? the best education - do your teachers make enough? Health care universal? medicine affordable? Do you feel safe in your neighbourhood? Do you get a vacation? Free internet? Dental? Pensions? maternal/parental leave? What has your nation done to alleviate homelessness? Disparity?
Workers safety rules are about to be turfed. Ah the good ol' MAGA days when people lost eyes and limbs, and fell off buildings/bridges when working. Just in time for no benefits, OSHA going, going, going, gone.
All these regulations hurt the billionaire class. They can't make money if they have to worry about stupid things like rules or safety.
You don't get much. But...
You get to buy bombs, jails, and billionaires.
Ok, there are some rules.
No bombs for Ukraine to defend against Trump's crush and you get to take their minerals for the privilige of giving them out of date munition for the past few years and not much else but threats.
Bombs for Israelis to bomb babies in Gaza and then steal their country, minerals and create refugees if any of them survive starvation or more bombs. Is the US inviting them in because they feel guilty for funding this massacre?
No, but they have created a back door for white south africaans fleeing the lack of apartheid all the while exiling true refugees from the US. Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
You get to buy bombs, jails and billionaires, but you don't get a return on the dollar. You get inflation. You get inflated prices. You get taxed.
They just denied Arkansas disaster relief after a series of monster tornados ripped the state apart. Arkansas is full of true believers, the majority swayed toward Maga. Sanders was his lying mouth piece for years before being anointed governor and he denied her the help, he denied them federal disaster relief. He denied them.
The asked for help. He said no.

He ignored the amount we spent on banking, tourism and entertainment, amazon, and all the American franchises ect. The data was skewed, and you believed him.

So, back to habeas corpus, once you're in jail, you're in. But is that it?
In a few weeks/months, once he can buy or dismiss the courts and spineless politicians ignore or cheer him on, and in homage to N. Korea, a country your great grandfathers fought and were wounded in, a new bill/law will come down the greasy pike. Your family will inherit a generational debt to pay for your 'crimes'. And what do you imagine those crimes could be? What do you think the worst crime will be?
Do you think perhaps it might be satire? Blasphemy? SNL in leg chains?
So no due process, no habeas corpus, just a bill, payable to whatever corporation/s owns the "correction facility".
And if you think a military hammer or a tylenol in a hospital is expensive, wait until you get the bill from El Salvador, courtesy of Black Rock.
But can someone explain why Canadian (or any other) visitors to the US hasn't dropped below, I dunno, 50%? Border crossings are only down by 30%?? WTF I get that trucking is still a thing, but it can't account for it all.
The US is no longer the land of the free. So many Americans seem puzzled why we aren't chomping at the bit to become American (partial) citizens. (they've yet to give PR, Guam and V.I's the full vote, or statehood).
Cities and states might be begging us to come back, but we still have to cross the "imaginary border" (imagine a Mexican declaring the same thing about their northern border). We still have to deal with border crossing guards and ICE, and random MAGA voters who believe the latest propaganda.

Your new system has no issue throwing us in detention centres for paperwork issues or less (and by us - I mean anyone who is not a US citizen, white, christian zionist, red hat - you get the drift).
Every day they get closer to the end goal, and once scrapping habeas corpus is enacted, they will have effectively created a slave class again, slavery that pays for itself, slavery that MAKES A PROFIT - bringing manufacturing back and still be able to compete, what a concept... and there may be no legal way to fight your way out of Alcatraz.
So why are you still going to the US?
