@izzythepush,
Aw. Did I hurt your feelings?
That's the thing about the English, thin skin.
You were so busy mansplaining things, I guess I didn't realize how sensitive you were about indefensible English history, you had to make it personal.
It's not like I insulted your intelligence, bald head, fat gut, flat feet or bad teeth.. I told you your country had a lot to answer for.
I have not once claimed any moral high ground. But I'm not bombing babies, am I? And is it to much to ask for it to stop?
My brother's girlfriend, 30 years ago, was a Palestinian with no papers.
She couldn't get a passport because Israeli's made sure she belonged to nowhere; she wasn't born in Israel, there was no Palestine, and she could never go home. She was waiting for citizenship, which she eventually got, but the rest of her family were also in the same boat, some in Canada, some not. They'd been striped of everything, but maybe I'll give her a call and tell her she's a beneficiary of British Imperialism, I'm sure she'll thank you too.
I haven't mentioned a lot of things here. What else does that prove I'm not interested or don't give a **** about? lol. Interesting concept though. Not only do you get to mansplain, but you get to decide what I know, what I benefit from, how nasty I am...

And my supposed lack paragraphs is another point of contention. Who knew?
Yep, I get to enjoy Canada, because it's beautiful. I live in a city that is 20% immigrants, 1/5 and at least double that first gens. Many of them are here because of - and I guess, subsequently are benefiting from British Imperialism too. However, the English didn't think Canada was worth much and gave us independence when we asked for it. You should read the parliamentary transcript, it's hilarious how those snobs undervalued this land and happily threw us away.
Again, why do I live here? English racism maybe? I'm now learning is acceptable, but Anglophobia is a horrendous crime. Hmmmm.
And unlike England, Canada is dealing with it's racist past. We've gone through Truth and Reconciliation, and have implemented many of the changes and are working towards the rest. We know how to say Sorry and mean it.
Has England ever apologized?
You had Brexit because Polish people picked your veggies. And look where that got you, the first country to capitulate trump. The rest of the world was looking at the situation and trying to come up with a more unified plan and..
Yep, Keir tripped over himself to sign a trade deal before everyone else. Because you're out in the cold now. The Euro's constantly tell you get stuffed. It must be slightly terrifying to realize you are alone.
The interesting thing is, the stock market fluttered when Starmer kissed his ring. But when China agreed to just maybe have a conversation, no deal, just a little dialogue, the market rebounded.
A perspective on importance.
Jews first lived in England from 750 ad, but were exiled in 1290, because I dunno, English racism? Oops, you missed that part.
Shakespeare died in 1616. The genocidal Crowmell lived from 1599 - 1658. So there was some crossover. And Jewish people, an entire community, were officially discovered living in the UK during his lifetime, but there's no real idea when they actually came back, or if they even left... But Willy knew enough to know that the crown was racist, and would love a good story proving their hatred was defensible. Right? It's not like he made that up, did he?
I mean, how did he even know about Jewish people? how did the audience? In a country that had banished them? what was all the hullabaloo about?
You're proof that even a little information is better than whitewashing 'colourful' history.
Have a great day.
Sorry I ruffled your feathers.
