@engineer,
Most people are concerned that the drones / orbs are US military-adjacent and refutations are misleading.

And why?

Otherwise, they’d be blown out of the sky because many are making airports close down and they’re flying over military installations—which is unlawful.

The cover up is always what gets them.

Most people are coming to realize that this stupid "drone scare" is simply another eruption of crowd madness.

Yeah, great idea, and have flaming garbage dropping to the ground in populated areas. Most of them are simply civilian and commercial aircraft (which are legal), satellites (which are too far away), or celestial objects known as "stars" (which are naturally found in the night sky.)

Has anyone thought to ask why aliens would care about New Jersey? If I'm a boss alien working the Earth project, I sure as hell am not going to spend all my resources in the Garden State.

This is similar to Christopher Hitchens questioning why the Creator would choose to have the half-human Son of God debut in a pastoral backwater like Palestine when there were advanced civilizations in China, India, and what is now known as South America.

But again, why New Jersey? I've driven the desert between Las Vegas and Reno where Area 51 is. There is a reason the military uses this barren, empty section of the country. But conspiracy theorists want us to believe that the military is trying to fly secret drones over a part of the country this is heavily populated and the hub for significant commercial and private air travel and not over their own military bases in the middle of nowhere where they are easily monitored and mostly hidden from the public. (To all the Georgia O'Keeffe fans, I admit the scenery is beautiful in its stark way.) To believe that this is the military (or aliens) involves the complete suspension of disbelief and common sense.

Funny story, slightly embarrassing at the time. As a new submarine officer, I was doing one of my first watches, coming to periscope depth. Part of the routine is to put up the scope and start spinning around looking for lights that could mean there was a ship nearby. You start pointing straight up (don't want to hit anything) and then lower the angle looking for ships as the scope breaks the surface. It was at night and I saw a light, so I reported a contact. The captain took the scope (he was lingering on the con since I was a newbie), looked at my "contact", then looked at the scope setting and confirmed the contact as a star.

@engineer,
Good story – I didn't know you'd been a submariner!

@engineer,
Hey.

I’m not sure what news reports you’ve seen are reporting.

Sightings along with footage from multiple witnesses from several states are posted online. At least two airports have been closed due to activity by multiple UFOs (or whatever nomenclature for unidentified flying objects is currently in vogue).

I understand that AI causes a healthy skepticism of video, but the governor of NY has demanded federal assistance to investigate.

I don’t think NJ stands out in any way.

@engineer,
You seem to be denying reality.

Temporarily closed – it's a precaution. And it only takes one to threaten airport security. These are probably hobbyist drones being operated by irresponsible owners who want to get a look at what's happening, like the ones that fly over sports arenas, or simply copycat troublemakers who enjoy having the power to make news. There are nearly 800,000 registered drones in the US, 13,000 in NJ alone.

Anybody watching—what is the reason Democrats like these at this site and the current administration want to deny what’s happening?

It’s more than a little psychotic.
